There is no insect screen on the balcony door this is very important

I made an appointment and received 3 emails confirming the time. When I arrived at the property, no one is in the leasing office. I called the number on the tour instruction and kept getting hang up.

Desmond At Wilshire is a great apartment good appliances good size of apartment. It has a no smoking in the building policy, which is not being really controlled, Construction and cleaning takes so long, Sometimes the residents have to suffer Under the construction for six months. Once those things are resolved, it is a good place to live

Pros: Units have excellent layouts and terraces are nice. Good lighting & ample windows. New maintenance person is a new positive for the property. Parking garage is nice. Cons: Chronic marijuana smell & cigarette stench. Longstanding problem. Very filthy hallway carpeting and garbage room area on our floor. Management action regarding marijuana problem resolution is poor and close to zero. Management needs to up its game and focus on residents' quality of life. Improved responsiveness to complaints would also go a long way.

Overall, very safe, maintenance, leasing office skills and professional tea needs to be a little more improved. It used to be very safe zone around the apartment but nowadays there are many people smoking and yelling around the apartment so security wise needs to be improved to.o.

If a noise, smoking, or other nuisance is reported, we conduct an internal investigation by first discussing it with staff and security to confirm if this issue has been reported to them and/or has been witnessed by them. The next step taken is to contact the surrounding neighbors to see if they are experiencing the same issue as well. Once the investigation is concluded and it is determined that the resident is in breach of their agreement, the next course of action is taken, which is the following: 1. Verbal talk (followed by an email recap for documentation) 2: Violation Notice Served 3-Legal Notice Served 4: Legal steps (in this step, the process and schedule are based on the legal department and court's availability). While we cannot share with you the steps that we are currently taking for this resident due to confidential purposes, we can just share the general steps that we take for recurring issues and lease violations. Our patrol officer is always available to assist residents after office hours. We also, share their contact to all resident. Please reach out them if its after hours and we will follow up when we are in the office. Thank you for your patience while we address your concerns accordingly. Community facility and surroundings are good, but poor maintenance. Only one security guard who is unable to reach many times, msg boxes are always full. Many people smokes in this bldg. but there is no strong violation to stop it.

A bit overpriced with good amenities and terrible wifi. Amazing staff though— great at their jobs. A lot of small things don’t work but could be easily fixed: elevators, cleanliness of shared furniture, the butterfly Mx security system. Packages all around the mailroom that get stolen. I cleaned HVAC system (lots of dust).

Fabulous apartments and community!

This review is long overdue, as I've been here almost a year. The manager Esther is amazing and made the touring, leasing and move in process easy and not stressful at all. She has added to my positive experience living here. The building is an ultra modern complex. They're always hosting super cute and fun events at the office, clubhouse, pool and rooftop deck. The 1st class amenities are amazing, including a professional gym, multiple BBQ grills, fire pits, TV’s, a beautiful clubhouse, jacuzzi and pool that feels like a luxury hotel. The building is very dog friendly and the private dog park is well maintained. The inside and outside of the building is kept very clean. The garage is kept clean and the parking spaces are big and easily fit SUV’s. The new building security system is nice and easy to use. The location is ideal and close to everything. The apartment itself is a great floor plan with no wasted space. It features modern stainless steel appliances, stylish light fixtures, a full size washer/dryer, and generous storage throughout the unit. The large modern ceiling fans keep the unit cool if you don’t want to use the air conditioner. The deck is spacious and feels very private because of the design. It's one of many thoughtful details that help to enhance the overall experience. Esther is the building manager and does an exceptional job of keeping a clean, safe community and makes the place feel like home. When I stop by the office, her door is always open and she’s pleasant and helpful when I need her. Resident feedback is listened to and acted on in a thoughtful and professional manner. Esther is very responsive and does a wonderful job of hiring staff in the leasing office who go out of their way to help the residents. If Esther can’t resolve the issue herself she will contact her team to assist her until she solves the problem. I’ve even seen her working after hours in an effort to make sure there is minimal inconvenience to the residents. One day I had trouble working the grill and Chanel in leasing fixed it immediately. The maintenance manager Chris handles repairs promptly and is knowledgeable and friendly. He answer questions pertaining to the operation of features in the apartment. Most of the fellow residents we've met have been very nice, upscale professional people. Thus far, all of my encounters with my neighbors have been positive and friendly. I recommend The Desmond and Greystar 10/10.

Underwhelming

Not bad for the price with all the amenities but the welcome gift for signing on for another year is then changing your key fob with out telling you and coming home from work to be locked out of your apartment! Not like they could have called me!? They sent me an email which was lost among all the other junk emails they send me. I only found it because the SAME thing happened to my friend apparently! ?? I also discovered they have bike parking here in a locked room.. I found it wandering around. They are TERRIBLE about yours or showing you amenities when you move in. Bait and switch.

I have lived in very nice buildings across Los Angeles, but this one is by far my favorite and been here longer than the other locations. The amenities are great, staff is phenomenal, bars/brunch spots are walking distance, restaurants and park is down the street. This area and this building is really a gem, but honestly you have to live here to understand the value.

I’ve live at the Desmond for 3 years &some change and fell in love with the area. When feeling lazy and wanna order in several options around. The building itself is beautiful with a great rooftop and a panoramic view of the city, pool and hottub, REALLY WANTED A POOL TABLE, but table tennis isn’t bad. Ester (new manager) is absolutely amazing and gets the job done unlike Johnny (old manager) Oscar is the maintenance guy anytime you put in a request it’s a quick turn around and he’s super nice. The neighbors for the most part are great, I can’t speak for all. No gas stoves in the apartment was a downer but with everything else Desmond has to offer I quickly sucked that up. The only thing Desmond is missing is a pool table!! Thank you Ester for being amazing now make your residents happier and get rid of that sand thing and replace it for a pool table.. Your favorite resident!!

Great building!

Great building! The Desmond at Wilshire is an incredibly well run, mid Wilshire building with gorgeous city views and fantastic building amenities. Esther who runs the management office is incredible and very attentive to the residence needs. The maintenance staff is very professional. The building offers a great gym, beautiful pool area, a wonderful rooftop deck with barbecues and lounging areas. There is even a meeting and rec room. There are numerous floorplans with big kitchens and large walk-in closet‘s. The finishes are very nice, more like a condominium than a rental. There are also work/home units that are great loft style units.

Great Building!

The building is very nice. Pre-covid we really enjoyed the amenities (rooftop, pool, gym, lounge) which are huge draws. The apartments themselves are modern and we love our layout. The neighborhood is a great mix of urban and suburban. It's peaceful to go out for walks on the residential side, and you also get more hustle and bustle on the Wilshire side. There are two really great restaurants right outside of the building that we love - El Cartel and Yuko Kitchen. We had a few things break in the apartment and smoke detectors go nuts, but maintenance was responsive. We've seen some doggie accidents happen around the building, but only a few. The package concierge and parking is super convenient and easy. The on-site management staff is very friendly. Overall, these are more expensive apartments for the area, but would definitely recommend the building and neighborhood!

Best management!

Manager Esther is the best manager I had in the building ever. So happy they transferred her back. Apartments are nice and big plus is doggy park, pool, gym and gated parking garage.

Safety and cleanliness are very important within this community and I love it! The elevators are mopped every morning, door-to-door trash pickup, sanitation machines on every corner. Another thing I love is how quiet it is all the time and I live above the pool area! Everyone is friendly and respectful. Working from home is so peaceful. Highly recommend this community!
