Nestled on the Columbia River in northeast Portland, Argay is a small community across the way from Government Island. Accessible only by boat, residents go to the island to fish, camp, and hike. Argay is settled on Interstate 84 and immediately east of Interstate 205, making the commute to nearby cities like Vancouver a breeze. The neighborhood is also just a few miles east of Portland International Airport, and residents can reach Downtown Portland in roughly 20 minutes. The area between the river and Sandy Boulevard is mainly industrial, lined with warehouses and industrial centers, whereas the south side of town features small businesses, sports bars, restaurants, neighborhood parks, and residential avenues.
