Holland is a small city on Michigan’s west coast, about thirty minutes from Grand Rapids. As you might guess, Holland has a strong Dutch heritage, which is on prominent display all around town: the Dutch Village and Windmill Island are local landmarks, and tulips are everywhere (in fact, one of the biggest events of the year is the Tulip Time Festival in May).
8th street serves as downtown Holland’s main drag, packed with world-class restaurants, specialty shops, breweries, and entertainment venues in a beautiful tree-lined setting. Lake Macatawa (which feeds into Lake Michigan) is a major attraction as well—boating, fishing, and just lounging on the beach are popular summer pastimes among locals. Rent for houses and apartments is quite affordable in many parts of town, with something to suit any taste and budget.

It took me months during Covid to get any staff on the phone to ask about apartment availability, when I called Crown Point they answered right away and listens to my questions and concerns and I was able to move in a month later. That staff here is passionate and reliable.

My experience at Crown Pointe has truly been nothing but great, from start to finish. I gave this place a try and have honestly been very pleased. From when I first walked through their show unit, to this very day, Leah, Alisa, and the whole Crown Pointe staff have been nice, respectful, and honest with me. I moved into my unit and it was clean and had minimal issues. The issues were resolved within the week of my move in. Prices are competitive, and the community is friendly. I’d really recommend looking at Crown Pointe for your next apartment. It suits my needs incredibly well. I have been here just over two months now and I look forward to living here the next year.

My husband and I moved to Holland Mi from Chicago and the toughest part of the process was finding a place that we both felt met all of our needs! One day we rolled into Crown Pointe for a visit and we immediately FELL IN LOVE! The staff was very attentive and informative answering all of our questions.... they were very patient with us as we had to fax and mail things from Chicago and we’d call, “did you get our fax?” Added bonus, they accepted our Fur baby Melo. There is nice convenient laundry in each building and each unit has it’s own garage! We love calling Crown Pointe home!

The most disappointing thing to my husband and I was the fact that the manager at these apartments was not kind to us or to someone else who was interested in the apartments on the phone. Any time we had a question that may have the chance that she could be wrong, she got very defensive and rude. We had many instances where she was not kind to us, and there were times she was telling us we had said things that weren't true, and she doesn't seem to follow what the lease says unless it benefits her or makes money. We just had many things go wrong while we were living here. The rules they have for tenants are not enforced (i.e. smoking in the hallways). I put in a maintenance request for a few small things around the apartment, and when I asked about what was up with it over 2 weeks later, they claimed I had been contacted 4 times, which is not true. Then, another week later, after I was told I would get a phone call to get it done, I looked on our account online and they had put the work as completed. So, it was almost a month before anything got done. In the winter, they did an incredibly poor job of keeping the driveway clear. One morning the snow was so bad and it was almost noon before they did anything about it. There were literally 3-ft drifts of snow in front of our door that no one ever took care of. As far as we could tell, there was only one person plowing snow and he came whenever he wanted to. All in all, the apartments look nice, but we would not rent there again.

Unfortunately, we have no information here in our Management Office to support that incidents mentioned here were ever directly voiced to our team or to associate this review with a particular apartment home or resident. That, coupled with the anonymity of the review, made it virtually impossible to have directly addressed the concerns.
