Old apartments with lots of issues and bad onsite and corporate management. Lots of water leaks that cause damage they will try to charge you for. Some buildings have roach issues (building 9 and 13) building 13 also has bed bug issues. Building 4 had a lot of water leaks. Make sure to take lots of pictures if anything happens and get things in writing. Also, the good reviews of their amazing maintenance is all from desperation. They pressure you into writing something positive. I fell for it myself because it’s awkward when the maintenance won’t leave until you do it in front of them.
Moved out Jan 31, 2024. Was told that they would be keeping my deposit to replace carpet. After living there 4 years the carpet has be damaged by flooding from a slab leak in the bedroom that required them to rip up the carpet and jackhammer the bedroom floor. As well as other times from flooding in my building. I understood that they were older apartments and these things happen but I don’t think billing tenants for these things is right. I live there a total of 5 years in two units. I was lucky enough to live in a buildings that didn’t have pest issues ( yes a lot of the buildings do have roaches and bedbugs) unfortunately one of my neighborhood friends lives in a unit with roaches and bedbugs. To anyone thinking about renting talk to some tenants, inspect your apartment before you move in and to anyone currently living there, get things in writing if anything happens or they will try to make you pay for their damages.

If I could leave 0 I would, been here 3 years and these apartments are TRASH. Came into it with roaches, had to get rid of them myself. Management made the comment that “they wasn’t there at first” BUT moved me to another unit instantly. Apartment has flooded over 5 times and I haven’t been accommodated and can’t move without being charged a fee. Apartments have mold in them due to water damages. I have had rental insurance since I been here and I’m being charged a fee because my documents wasn’t loaded once my policy was renewed so I have to pay the late fee but the extra charge will still apply. DO NOT MOVE HERE! They will get you out of your money for EVERY little thing they can. COOPERATE is the real problem.

Veronica and Brittany are so kind and ready to assist. It’s just the two of them and they run the show! My apartment is located right off the freeway and surrounded by so many restaurants, love this about the location. My neighbors are all just... how do I put it, chill? They all care for their porches and pretty decorated patios. The inside of my unit is renovated with a nice kitchen backsplash and black appliances. The lighting is also so nice and bright in my bathroom and kitchen. What makes this apartment stand out is the quality, location, and price.

This establishment carries the best apartment staff I’ve seen from the head manager Veronica to the assistant manager Brittany. It is always a pleasure to be in their company they are always willing to help and go out of their way to make sure I have the best stay here at the cottages. This is a place you want to live it was so easy to get my apartment they made the process very fast and simple. You will not regret checking out the cottages at Bedford.

I had concerns about the community prior to moving in as I knew the rent was cheaper than the rest of the area. Usually you get exactly what you pay for. I changed jobs and needed to move quickly. They were the only community that had a 2 bedroom available for immediate move in. I was able to view my new home before turning in my application. I wasn’t expecting to go on a tour at all. I loved it! It is in a great location, the renovations are nice, I have no pest issues, and every work order I entered was handled within 24 hours. Mike is the best maintenance technician. He has a great attitude even when he’s had a rough day. My neighbors are all very sweet and I enjoy seeing them. The grounds are always clean. It’s a quiet community, and I feel safe even when I come home late. We have a new office team, but they are perfect for our community.

I rented this apartment online since I was moving from OR and needed somewhere to live when I got to TX. The unit I rented was avail 11/7 but I was not going to be in TX til 11/20. I called the office staff to make sure moving in on 11/20 would be okay, of course it was. After looking at the price of the unit I noticed it was a cheaper, due to it not being renovated. They gave me the option to have the unit renovated and I agreed. Apparently it was still scheduled to be done by 11/17 w/renovations. The week leading up to my move I called to confirm everything was good/ready. The office staff confirmed & said they open at 8:30 am for move in. Morning of 11/20 around 9 am, 15min out from the apt. I received a call from the office stating I can’t move in until 3-5 that day! I’m minutes away from my new home after a very long few days on the road with my pregnant wife and dog, we just wanted to get the car unpacked and get a bed and furniture. I asked if I could see the apartment as I don’t understand why we can’t move in til 3-5 now when we were told we could move in as early as 8:30 am prior to us checking. Of course when we got there the apartment was completely unfinished. They had 3 extra days past the date they told us it would be done. No one could take a minute to pick up a phone prior to our arrival to let us know they ran behind schedule!? We now have to kill 6 hours in a new state and area we have never been w/our dog. Hours later around 3:00pm we are finally able to see our “move in” ready apartment. Nothing I mean nothing has been done to this apartment. There was saw dust all over the carpets along with screws, lovely. There were cob webs in the light fixtures, paint was still drying, nothing had been cleaned. Oh and we had NO CABINET DOORS on anything. No one informed us they were on back ordered...how are we supposed to move in when our pet can get into any cleaners, pots/pans, etc. We decided to refund our deposits and go somewhere else. The office manager Leah assured us she would get the paperwork in right away and it would take 30days for the refund check. Fast forward to now we have NO REFUND and a baby due soon. I have contacted the property and their management company multiple times and no one is getting me my check. DO NOT TRUST this awful company or complex. You will regret it. I’m shocked they do not have multiple lawsuits at this point with my situation and the other awful reviews I have read.

Staff was very nice and friendly. They helped me with everything that I needed and then some. The property was beautiful and well maintained! I loved the fitness center and their beautiful pool!!

Everyone has a different experience at apartments, but this is ours: Move-in day: property manager did not arrive until 11am, but our move in time was 9am. However, that was okay because the door to apartment was already unlocked -_- As I started walking through the apartment, I noticed nothing was clean. The previous tenant's dishes we even still in our dishwasher. I spoke to the property manager once she arrived and, not wanting to start off on the wrong foot, I explained that she should know that whoever they hire to clean the apartments is just not doing a good job. I think she thought by saying "several people have said that" I would be put at ease. But if some company doesn't have a good review, why continue to hire them? Now the biggest problem we have by far is the roaches. RoachES as in plural, as in several, as in infestation. (I plan on updating with videos if I can). We moved in around mid June and the apartment has only sprayed us 3 times because they can only spray a certain number of apartments each visit and they only come twice a month on Tuesdays. This past time, they came on a Wednesday (Jan 2nd) WITHOUT NOTICE. So, our cabinets we not cleaned out for them to spray. We have also bought spray from walmart and tried remedies we found on youtube (we are THAT desperate) NOTHING works. If thay doesn't show you how much they dont care about this place - when my husband moved the fridge (because he was on his nightly, NIGHTLY roach killing frenzy), it was clear they hadnt moved the fridge to paint when they last updated our apartment and we live in a "non renovated" apartment. Maintenance was great and extremely prompt. Then they hired these other 2 that they have now. We sent in a request to fix a broken light fixture, a broken drawer (it literally broke because I bumped it on accident while cooking), another broken drawer that broke when I tried to close it, and our blinds were broken somehow. We contacted them daily via email to fix the problem. My husband finally went to the office and management said they sent the request to them as soon as they got it. It seems strange to me that immediately after that maintenance showed up to fix the problems. Still don't believe me that living here is the worst? Our upstairs neighbors moved in around October and they're already gone. The only thing that's keeping us here is the lease we signed because we don't want to ruin our credit.

When I first moved in to the Cottages it was an Oasis from the city and commute. The apartment building I chose on the property sat neatly tucked away by the creek, and my balcony view was of an expanse of green field and mature trees. All of this in the center of mid-cities between Dallas and Fort Worth - location, location, location. The Apartments were a little older, but I could get past that, especially since they upgraded the flooring, lighting fixtures, and appliances. I overlooked the single pane windows and the lack of insulation in the walls and the old, loose outlets. The view had me. The management changes quite frequently, but the maintenance crew is very responsive and knows their stuff. The only problem I really had was when they would resurface another unit in my building with this horrible, chemical smelling spray that would permeate through the walls and linger for a few days. The Owners have changed, again, second time since I've been here... And they have painted the buildings battleship gray... And they have put up a massive, black chain link fence in the middle of the green field with a trash can in the middle of the fenced area and signage on the fence that is large and white with red letters reading "Bark Park"... And they built a massive stone and gravel grill and picnic area just beneath my balcony where people congregate at night from time to time to talk and argue and drink... And the green field is now mostly brown, and there is no solitude there - only concrete and wire and noise. The only reason I'm staying on is because rent has gone out of control in this area and I have a good rate here because I got in during initial remodeling years ago. Well, and because moving sucks. Other than that I'd probably move.
I've lived at my apartment since 2009. It's a quiet community and that's what's kept me here for so long. I live at the Cottages of Bedford. Also the rent is always affordable.
