CORE Apartments

Living at Core Apartments has been a mixed experience. The location is convenient, with easy access to campus and nearby shops. The apartment layout is modern and spacious, and the included amenities like the gym and study lounge were useful. However, maintenance response times were sometimes slow, and noise from neighbors could be an issue. Management was polite but not always proactive. While the rent felt a bit high for the quality of service, the overall environment was safe and fairly clean. It served its purpose during my time there, but I’d explore other options before renewing.

I love living in this apartment. There are so many amenities that make me comfortable, a quiet place and a private gym. All of these are amazing.

I live to live in the CORE Apartment so much. Because we have a lot of amenities, private gym, and locked safety doors. These always make me secured, and I feel comfortable to stay in the apartment.

Aside from a little noise throughout the walls/ceiling from people and/or animals, so far it has been a great first apartment! Kept very clean, have never had any problems with residents, parking is great, and is in a great location as well!

Thanks to the staff, the apartment is usually kept clean. There are a lot of amenities which we can enjoy. I would like to recommend someone to live in this apartment.

Very nice but expensive , I like the place and how peaceful it is and safe, i don’t worry about anything, I would suggest you to just lower rent

Love the place, no problems at all. Sometimes the garage smells like trash but they remove it pretty often. Other than that, I really like the location and connectivity to campus.

Everything is great except for the door constantly being open in the mail room leading to the garage. It makes it smell in the mail room. And also the mail room door to outside always being unlocked. Anyone can enter and I’m not always comfortable with that.

Good living area. I really like coffee machine and gym ambience. Study area is also good, besides this play area is also good and also the best thing is you can reserve it

Very nice apartments. Issues that have come up all be it small dealt with quickly and professionally by the maintenance staff. All of the staff seem to be very friendly

I’ve enjoyed living at the Core! It’s very quiet and no loud neighbors. Trash does get picked up regularly. Very dog friendly as well with available dog stations

It is really good because they have a coffee maker, private gym, study lounge and sky lounge etc. We can enjoy inside the building, it means really convenient. And I feel comfortable thanks to the auto locked door.

The apartments are modern and provide ample space with how they are organized. My favorite aspects are the in unit laundry and modern kitchen appliances. The building also has a small gym, rooftop lounge and small hot tub which are very nice to use. The only cons are that most residents have dogs and sometimes there is dog poop left along the grass outside and in walkways, which is disgusting. Additionally, individuals will leave their trash next to the dumpsters which smells and creates a mess. All in all I recommend core!

I have been enjoying living at the core apartment, the environment and atmosphere is so nice here, also the experience become so much better after school started and i relised how perfect the location is close to the university and everything thing around from gas stations and grocery

Compared to the last apartment I was at it is very quiet here, it feels very homey and I love it, the staff is very helpful including the maintenance guys, I met them in the hall and voiced a very minor concern that didn’t need any attention that day but they were at my apartment taking care of that concern that day and less than an hour after I talked to them,

Although when I arrived my apartment was dirty with damaged cabinets and carpet, CORE staff were able to immediately assist with my concerns. They were able to get a cleaning crew out there in less than 24 hours, as well as facilitate carpet replacement.

I moved in on 1st Aug and it is good so far—quick response for maintenance and easily reachable via phone. Just need more parking space for unassigned vehicles

The management here is nothing but exceptional they have dealt with any issues that have arisen and I cannot be happier in this very nice luxury apartment!

I like the apartment. It’s new, clean, and quiet. The staffs are responsive and friendly. I enjoy having the free coffee and hot chocolate provided in the lobby every morning. I’m also planing to invite my friends to come over and have a BBQ party on the sky deck. Best apartment I’ve lived in!

I just moved in and feel like I’m not off to a good start. I came in with the kitchen drawer being broken, that I was able to put back in place, had to submit a ticket for my shower door to be fixed as well. Maintenance was good about coming the following business day and fixing it. I then came up the following week to my brother telling me one of the outlets are not working. I tried to preheat the oven, smoke started coming out. I left it open to air it out and then attempted at it again, only for the smoke to be worse and fill up the whole apartment the second time. I also did a couple loads of laundry, washer is great, dryer….not so much. Cannot get a full dry load even after running it multiple times.

CORE Ames has great staff, good response time from maintenance team, overall good living experience! Would love more opportunities to get to know people in the building!

Great location! Building is well maintained. Very pet friendly for dogs. Access to complimentary coffee, hot chocolate and water. Nice workout facility.

Nice apartment, the garbage is a real issue though. I live on the third floor and can consistently smell the garbage from the garage in my hallways. There are parts of the apartment that feel like they were thrown together hap hazardly. They also removed staffing for the office in the building which has become a headache for many people. The gym gets too hot to use, and the halls can also get really hot.

This is a great apartment! Everyone is friendly, and I have never had an issue with noise or neighbors! The place is always clean, and they offer free coffee ;)

I love this place in general, it is a very special and very pleasant and quiet environment where you can enjoy a good coexistence in a community that is respectful of its residents. without a doubt an excellent place

So far I have enjoyed living at Core Apartments. It’s a nice apartment but there are always rude, annoying, and inconsiderate neighbors who don’t respect anyone around them think they own the entire complex.

I love it here! Clean hallways, quiet neighbors, helpful staff :) There is always different kinds of tea and coffee in the lobby which is a major bonus

Had a rough move in, was given a handicap apartment and it was not in good shape. After move in, management was extremely accommodating and replaced everything that needed fixed as soon as possible. After that living here has been great.

Great staff, great location. Awesome rooms at a very reasonable price. Gym, study room and patio are fantastic and garage parking is the best in Ames.

We love living at Core. It’s a quiet community that is close to campus. They allow small dogs, which was important to us. We enjoy the amenities and the clean common areas.

I think this property has been a great option for me. The management has been extremely nice and helpful. Whenever there was something wrong in my apartment, maintenance would come in extremely quick and get things sorted out in a manner where they would be in and out quickly. They definitely value and respect their residents privacy here.

I moved into the CORE apartments at the beginning of April 2023 with my two mini aussies. In the almost 6 months we've lived there, it has been great! Super quiet building and everyone I've met has been super friendly.

I like living here. The apartment is new and location is wonderful. The coffee machiane, in-unit washer&dryer and parcel locker are the best parts!

The core apartments is a great place to live! The management is great. The only few thing is that it’s just a little expensive. It’s kinda far but close to campus and there is a bus stop outside of the facility.

CORE Apartments are a wonderful place to live post graduation! You are still surrounded by similar aged people, but the apartment is quiet and homey. It is also a close commute to Iowa State University. A bus picks you up right outside of the apartment doors! Overall a great experience!

This is my 4th year living at Core apartments. I have loved living here! The units are beautiful, great location, beautiful wooded setting, heated parking, nice exercise room, free coffee and friendly staff.

This is a beautiful place! Always quiet, helpful staff, spacious units, and great amenities. If you are in search of an apartment definitely check out CORE!

Nothing bad to say about the core! Was searching for an apartment late in the year and they were very kind and quick with getting us in! Amenities are great too and they are helpful with any questions we have!

Very clean and well kept, friendly staff, has very nice amenities, appliances are new and no weird smells, there is a very nice power washer downstairs

Great apartment for ISU students. Cyride bus stop right across the street. Study lounge on every floor. Residents are respectful and follow the noise policy.

Core now has new management and it's so much better now. Jennie and Cody are the main staff here now and they are so helpful and nice! I definitely recommend living here.

I'm still waiting on a check for $2300 that I was promised 6 months ago. Does not communicate well, and she is untruthful. An expensive lesson for me.

the manager is rude and won’t refund your deposit. She will treat you with no respect and no honesty once you signed the lease.

There is no building up keep. Amenities are never available to be used or are broken. There is dog poop everywhere. The grass is dead all around the building. Staff are incredibly rude. They do not try to fix problems when they arise. The staff is well versed in sarcasm and snarky comments. The apartments are extremely expensive for not getting access to amenities.

They try overcharging on rent until you point it out. This is a monthly issue
