Property Ratings at Copper Trail
One word pretty much sums it up: Management They never return calls. They target and harass people. You won't get a dime of your deposit back. You will regret ever living here.
I have lived in this complex for seven months. The staff is utterly useless. They do not attempt to solve customer issues, instead stating policy or, "it is what it is". They do nothing but collect checks. For instance, just a week ago, trash somehow was spread across the lot, and it took all of that week to clean it up. Maintenance requests can take days to get resolved, most likely, because of how long it takes to actually get someone on the phone. Move anywhere else, under a bridge, in a refrigerator box, in with your mom and dad. ANYWHERE, but this terrible complex. You will be very disappointed if you do.
We lived in these apartments since Nov 2014 and are just moving out cause we purchased a house. We loved our apt. We started in a 2 bedroom and then upgraded to a 3 bedroom. The apts are beautiful and well done. The walls seems to be kinda thin but that is any apartment. Super close to the mall, hospital, shopping centers, food and schools. Also love that they accept big dogs. (may have breed restrictions not sure) The neighborhood is quiet and most are friendly. The pool and Gym are great as well. There is always some hiccups and problems but the staff is pretty quick at getting them fixed. The staff throws get togethers for the residents which I think is really cool. They love to spoil kids!!! We will miss the staff. Thank you Copper Trails for taking care of us.
The apartments are new but not well built, the location has lots of crime. The management is AWFUL they will nickel and dime you while at the same time rescheduling any appointments you have.
This place has a gorgeous interior--but rest assured that manager Beth, who used to manage down the street at Courtside, has not changed. 1. I had my apartment professionally cleaned and no damage to my apartment --she tried to claim some of my deposit anyway. 2. It also took about 7 weeks and the threat of a lawsuit to get said deposit back. 3. She chooses people to harass. 4. High turnover in the office and they've only been open about 2 years now, hmm. Don't rent here.
The management at Copper Trail is pitiful. Beth and Shawna clearly don't care about their jobs. They are rude, unresponsive, dismissive, and apathetic (to name a few). And to top it off, they frequently close 30-60 minutes early just because they feel like it, so don't pay attention to the hours posted on their website or their office door. They only work when they want to! You would think Shawna would actually care about Copper Trail since she lives here too, but apparently not. The only reason I didn't rate it with one star is because Copper Trail is smoke-free.
Living there a year I experienced leaks from my upstairs neighbor’s bath tub due to someone during the construction process not knowing what they were doing when they installed the plumbing. The whole stack of apartments had the same issue, including mine! I received a 3 day pay or vacate notice in error, when I paid my rent timely. The Manager applied my rent payment to someone else’s apartment and instead of double checking her work printed out the 3 day pay or vacate notices and posted it to my door. I received a call back from her regarding the incident with her upset that I posted a review on Social Media regarding my experience at their apartments. I also received a call from their leasing agent upset that I included her name in a letter to corporate, regarding me physically handing her the check and me questioning the competence of their staff. I received a letter from their Assistant Manager, that I was in violation of my lease based on a first notice I never received! Based on the experience I had before, I contacted the Regional Manager. She found that they had been messing up on my file left and right and apologized for the lack of Customer Service I have received. I moved out of their apartments last month and did the walk through inspection with their maintenance staff. I was told if I wanted to receive a list of charges I could call back during the weekday when Beth was able to get the information. I called on March 29th and left a message with the leasing staff who was more interested in where I had moved to more than anything, which I found strange. I received a call back from Beth on March 30th telling me that I would be charged for items that totaled $396.67. She also mentioned that I would be receiving a refund check in the mail and that if I had questions or concerns to call. I had no questions or concerns and based on her message expected approximately half of my deposit back. It now appears that because I didn’t call back with “questions or concerns” Beth decided to stick it to me and took my ENTIRE deposit and charged me $24.47! If this is the type of Apartment Management Company you want to do business with, this is your place! I wanted to post this feedback to make others aware of the type of business practices this apartment has. I have never had a deposit taken in full, this is the first and last time. I wish I trusted the reviews I saw previously before deciding to rent here.
If you work in commission based sales/a job with the potential to bonus, with little guaranteed income, don't even bother applying here. Copper Trail ONLY allows people who can barely afford to pay rent to live here. That means if you're single and make more than roughly $30,000 a year, you "over qualify". I thought that since my hourly wages-my guaranteed income was less than $30,000 a year BEFORE tax, I would qualify. Unfortunately what they do is forecast your earnings to include POTENTIAL high paying commission/bonus months that there is literally no fair way to predict. They also ask for $135 to process the application in the form of a cashiers check. $35 for the application, and $100 as a holding deposit. They don't explain this very thoroughly so if you do decide to give yourself a headache by going into their leasing office, I'd recommend bringing in two checks...otherwise they won't give you your $135 check back since they need to keep $35 of it. This complex is not equal opportunity. Only those who can prove 12 months of earning less than a fair living wage with NO potential to have a higher than average paying month need apply here.
The apartments are fantastic. Nice size, nice gym, in a great location, along with many other great qualities. Except the management makes me want to leave when my lease is up. On multiple occasions I have paid rent and they have "misplaced" my check. They have given me a 3 day notice to evict just 1 day after the grace period for rent. They won't work with you on anything whatsoever. The office is ran by people who don't care about the tenants.
Copper Trail Apartments are amazing, My family and I moved in on January 1 2015 we love it here. It a lovely sight to wake up to. We have a view of the Olympic mountains. The staff here are very friendly and professional. The staff will work with you on your deposit splitting it up into multiple payments plus they wont put up with any illegal activity which makes it a great place for families. Thank you to the staff.
