The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at CONTRAIL PARK
I moved into these apartments when they had just been built (2017 summer) because the pictures looked great. I’m new to Winchester and I thought these were the best apartments in the area. However, these buildings are so cheaply made I was shocked when I moved in. The paint stains if you barely touch it without clean hands. The walls dent if anything falls against them in the slightest bit. You can hear full on conversations from units above/below you and next to you. Every night I hear snoring from the person in the unit next to me. Also, they advertise a picnic area, but keep in mind that was built about a month ago, yet when I moved in the summer, they still advertised a picnic area when it hadn’t been put together yet. Still waiting in the grill and horseshoe pits that they list in amenities above. The management is horrible here. Doris completely forgot to tell us we would be paying for water (all other apartments in Winchester don’t charge for water) and if you do choose to live here, make sure to ask about a discount on rent if you pay up front. I dealt with Doris in management and she neglected to tell me that, which is something I would have done because I am a grad student who needs to save anywhere possible. The whole apartment is just very poorly put together. You can tell they were trying to save money. Also, fire trucks take a regular route right by the apartment and since the walls are paper thin, just know you’ll wake up to those sirens occasionally. Also, insulation is horrible so in the winter, the heat is constantly running. If you stand by the patio door inside, you can feel a draft from the outside cold. That runs up the heat bill substantially. The washer is really bad and leaves a weird white residue on all my clothing. I had to call maintenance about every door in the apartment because it was not sanded so I ended up cutting my hand when I first moved in. Everything was so sharp. Also, the heat/ AC unit is so obnoxious (loud is an understatement) and it’s right in the living room by the master bedroom. They didn’t even try to control the sound for that. All in all, the apartments are not good. Management is a nightmare to deal with and they are not friendly or understanding at all, and the location is pretty poor. There are much better places to live in this area.
