Lower Highlands, known as LoHi, is a family-friendly neighborhood just three miles outside of Denver, where you’ll find the Colorado State Capitol, Civic Center Park, the Denver Art Museum, and so much more. LoHi boasts a variety of local burger joints, taverns, beer gardens, and coffee shops such as Recess Beer Garden and Root Down, an old filling station turned New American eatery. LoHi is located near major parks such as the City of Cuernavaca Park along the South Platte River, boasting biking and hiking trails with scenic city views.
Hirshorn Park is a smaller neighborhood park that’s worth a visit, housing baseball fields, basketball courts, and a playground. Nestled along Interstate 25, commuting is no issue in LoHi, especially with Denver so close, but if you don’t plan to drive, there are plenty of public bus stops on the area’s major roads.

I am so heartbroken because I absolutely love the location but the management has made it not worth staying. New management came in and has been completely incompetent. I've lived in a lot of apartments, my bar for management is so low it's on the ground and yet they have tunneled underneath it. They raised the price of parking from $95 a month to $150 a month and they can apparently just keep raising the price whenever they want and we have absolutely no say or choice. On top of paying so much more we no longer have 24 hour service so if your garage reader doesn't work after hours (happened to several people I know!) you're locked out and screwed. The have so many hidden fees like mandatory trash valet that is absurdly expensive when I would rather just bring my trash to the chute, mandatory package delivery service instead of just, you know, a mailroom, and amenity fees even though the pool is always out of order and the hot tub is permanently closed. It took them months to fix issues with my lease and get me access to their payment portal which was absolutely absurd. Again, I have a lot of patience and experience with crappy management but for what we pay in rent it's crazy that everything is so poorly run. I wish I could stay in the area but I'm just so done overpaying so much to live in filthy conditions with the worst management I've ever experienced. The parking price increases have been the last straw for me. Trust me, the place isn't worth it.
First, I really like the location of the apparent. However, there are some glaring issues that new property management has created, doesn’t address and does not taking constructive feedback well despite best efforts. First, they constantly run out of gym wipes for days at a time, on a monthly basis. They now said they are not responsible for it being gone between orders. Gross. Also, second big one is that they had perfectly function hot tub until they came in and decided instead of repair it to put a tarp on it and make it unusable for months. Property manager said it’s the owners and they have decided to fill it concrete instead of investing to repair it. Feels like a bait and switch. I don’t know why they just don’t repair so they can rent more units and better experience rather than take the cheep way out. But, this seems to be a theme. These are just a couple of the issues. I’m willing to change my mind once they start addressing issues. Also, many issues in unit that were reported on original form that were not addressed. I will say the maintenance manager is awesome and should be given a raise, but he seems to be the only one who cares. Otherwise, hands are tide. Please consider this when looking around of what you may be getting into.
Staff at Commons Park West are very friendly, helpful, and responsive, both in the leasing office and on the maintenance staff. We get prompt notifications of work that is being done in the building, and maintenance follows through with even the most non-routine issues.

Commons park west is the best place I’ve lived. Nothing is ever perfect but this comes close. Location, amazing, like insanely beautiful, cost, slightly lower than a lot of places and again a way cooler location. I can walk to get all kinds of food, my apartment has a couple design flaws like doors that should open the other way or mirrors hung too high because that’s where the outlets are but I’m quite sure no apart figured it all out without costing an arm and a leg. The pool is beautiful, and the workout room is really great. So many conveniences and my back yard is the Platte river and commons and confluence park. Gorgeous!

Commons park west is the perfect way to live downtown or highlands or sunnyside. All of these places are so expensive and Platte st is safe and I love watching people with their dogs and all the people who include outdoor activity on a daily basis. It’s a wonderful environment especially motivating to be healthier, to get some puppy kisses (only if mom/dad says it’s ok). The only frustrating aspect is the timing of redoing the outdoor areas. Losing the pool for two weeks in July is sad but I know the weather has been wet and may not have been conducive to sealers and grinding. Overall location is perfect, my apartment is cozy, and neighbors are totally great I do wish there was more sound insulation between the walls and ceilings. But that’s apartment life.

The location is great. Everything else is pretty bad. List of move in issues: - car was towed due to never being given a decal or notified of the need of a decal despite having active permit for the garage - Wifi was out for 5 days during move in (due to broken cable in the wall) - apartment should verify rooms are ready for move in prior to renting... - AC went out for 4 days in peak summer temps - witnessed a bike theft in parking garage - do not feel safe with garage set up after this (there's also no fob requirement for garage to apartments so anybody could get access to apartments) - Pool is closed for 2 weeks even though I was told all construction would be completed by my move in (this was a deciding factor when moving in and it's just been taken away during peak summer) - Being forced to park in separate garage if space is available due to construction (inconvenient for returning to apartment and possibility of garage exceeding capacity)

Because Commons Park West is owned by Greystar, the biggest rental agency in the country, Commons Park West really has no incentive to care about its residents. The building itself is fairly old and is constantly having plumbing and flooding problems. On top of this, their maintenance takes FOREVER. For my first example three months ago my bathroom ceiling started dripping shower water from the unit above me and I had to go to the front office 3 times a week to get maintenance to come fix it. When maintenance would show up they would say they couldn't fix it that day or that they could only partially fix it. As of today I still have a big hole in my ceiling with exposed dry wall from an incomplete maintenance job. When I tried to ask if I could be compensated for having to use my roommates bathroom when I was paying to have my own they offered my roommate and I another unit to move into (even though we only have 2 more months in our lease) so legally they were off the hook but really didn't have to do anything about it. For my next example, my friend who lived on the first floor had her window smashed by someone and commons park west took 2 months to repair it and she had a wood board as her window that entire time. Her unit also flooded and she had to switch units and was not compensated for any of the damages or inconvenience. Along with having really slow maintenance, Commons Park is also a fetch facility meaning an outside company handles all of their packages. The way it works is you send all your packages to a factory and they deliver it to you. Ever since COVID fetch has been really understaffed and constantly loose packages and deliver the incorrect packages to my door. It was so bad fetch even lost my brand new skis and blamed it on UPS even though UPS had a photo that they were signed for by the fetch facility. There are so many other inconveniences that happen in this building like fire alarms going off in the middle of the night, water randomly being shut off for an entire day without any warning before, really loud construction outside or on your unit without any warning, appliances always breaking, mold in your unit. The parking spots are also really small and my roommate had her scratched really badly by someone in the parking lot and building wouldn’t help her all with trying to figure out who did it or anything. Commons Park West will also never compensate you for any inconvenience.

The location is amazing and renovated apartments are nice!! However you have to deal with fire alarms (painfully loud ones, I’ve seriously have never heard a louder one in my life) going off more often than normal. There was a period of time this winter where it was normal for them to go off 1-3 times a night due to a water leak faulting the alarm (also yikes). Save yourself the large amount of money that they charge and the sleep you’ll lack from living here..

It’s so close to so many things great shops and food. Commons park is convenient to all highways for in town and to the mountains on days off. The parks around are amazing and the paths are endless. So many dogs to keep a smile on your face

Upper management; or lack thereof, seems to be more concerned about maintaining the image of a once sought-after establishment rather than the actual needs of the residents themselves. The leasing agents are friendly and polite but any issue seems to have to be run up the ladder for approval. There have been multiple issues with the building; fire alarms going off throughout the night, theft of packages, vandalism and theft of vehicles in a "secured" garage, with no security cameras, which is also charged an extra 100 dollars a month to your already overpriced rent for an out of date building with a fresh coat paint. Management has no urgency in remedying these issues once your lease is signed. They are unaccommodating and inflexible when it comes to residents needing assistance with issues. Save yourself time and energy and look for a residence elsewhere in the area.

I just moved in 2 weeks ago and so far I have LOVED this apartment complex. I was able to find a one-bedroom apartment within my budget that is spacious and upgraded. The location is great as it's walking distance to LoHi restaurants/bars and to Commons park. I also love that we have the parking garage, which I have found works great and is never too crowded to find a spot on my floor. I did have one maintenance issue, but it was resolved quickly and effectively. Overall it's been a great experience so far!

The one star is simply for the location. I lived in these apartments for four years, so my review is based on multiple instances of these things. Fire alarms still go off at any and all times of the day in both buildings. Maintenance requests are sometimes answered, sometimes not. I lived two years of winters without any heat and a summer without AC, simply because no one would answer me. If you ask any questions, the normal response time is about a week or more, if you get a response. Once, I lost my keys and was locked out, I called the after hour line and they told me "call a locksmith" so I did, but the doors are unable to be opened by a locksmith so I slept on the floor outside my door. They completely do not care about the people that live in this building, but will happily charge you extra fees, late fees, etc. without any notice. When I moved out, they took 1/2 of my security deposit for damage that I had proof was not the way I left the apartment. Go anywhere else to live.

Commons Park West is a wonderful community in a fantastic location! Moving to Denver was much easier with the help of the friendly leasing team. Everyone here has made me feel welcome. Community is wonderful and located at an amazing location! Amenity spaces are beautiful and units as well. Staff is very friendly and willing to help with any issue. Any issue that there currently is, has or is beeing addressed/fixed which is nice to see that community voices are heard!

This place would be great if youre really into that expensive student accommodation vibe. Its pretty gross, management dont care, and nothing really works. Positives: good location Negatives: everything else you could possible imagine except location. I regret signing a lease and Id strongly advice you not do the same.

Dont live here if you want to enjoy where you live. This place is like expensive student accommodation. The building is falling apart and there is constant construction with nails left on the floor and filth everywhere. Doors hanging off their hinges, firm alarms going off constantly, flooding on the daily. You pay a small fortune in 3rd party services that you dont have to pay at other buildings. The management only care about you signing the lease and paying your rent. They will not help you if you have any issues - they are fantastic at making excuses though.

Our experience at CPW has been nothing but amazing! Staff members are supportive and friendly, location is unbeatable, updated amenities, & decent apartment finishes. We have enjoyed getting to know our neighbors and the down town life!

The location of Commons Park West is really unbeatable, especially for the price I'm paying! I love having coffee or wine on my balcony overlooking the walking street and the river and the park. Also, the women in the leasing office have all been so kind and helpful!

Security is terrible, I dont trust that my truck wont be broken into or smashed. Packages stolen. Management team seems unhelpful. They have no answers. The answers available seem irrelevant or unhelpful or the solutions are massive issues in their own way.

I love this place. Between the sun in the AM and the wildlife from the rivers, this place is pretty unique. Having miles of paths to walk literally right outside the door is pretty special. For me, this place is perfect.

Best location in Denver - where access to the city and nature collide. The layout of my apartment- big tub- large closet- washer and dryer off the kitchen. I LoOVE. Plus my tiny little balcony I love to sit on with my cat and listen and soak it all in! Love taking walks/bike rides around the neighborhood. I am less than two miles from where I work. It really doesnt get much better and the neighbors Ive met thus far are extremely friendly. No joke, almost every friend Ive had over now thinks about applying to live here too!

Do not live here. There was problem after problem and the management did nothing. They were rude, disrespectful, and unhelpful. Live anywhere else but here. They make false promises. We haven't had a gym or pool for 2 years even though they said it would be a few months. Our apartment flooded twice and they blamed it on everything else. It made us go through insurance and did not compensate even though we couldn't live in our unit for a month. We had a worker in and out of our apartment without warning. The mailroom is a mess. They have lost packages. This is worse than hell.

Great neighborhood with tons of thing around to do in every direction, and the best staff you could ask for. My only complaint would be with the valet trash. While generally people are good with putting the trash out at the right time, walking through the hallways you can always find someone who put out their trash no matter what day or time you check.

This is the worst apartment in Denver. Our apartment flooded twice and they didn't care. The garage never works so you can't get in or out, the fobs are always broken, the mailroom is a mess and we are paying for a pool and gym yet it has been under construction for 2 years. The mangers of the building, Dani and Erica and so incompetent and rude. The CEO doesn't even care about his residents.
WORST APARTMENT BUILDING EVER. Our unit has flooded twice and displaced us for over 8 weeks. They did not offer us alternate accommodations and made us pay our rent when we were not able to live there. Door fobs NEVER work so you get locked out on a weekly basis. We have not had access to the pool or gym for over a year! two amenities we pay for. EXTREMELY unreliable mailroom for packages. I have been trapped in the parking garage NUMEROUS times and had to uber to work. HORRIBLE staff, rude, unaccommodating, and unhelpful! THE LEASE IS A TRAP!
Incredible location with accessibility to both LoHi/Highlands and Downtown, nestled between up-and-coming workspaces, cafes, retail shops, and the Platte River.

Commons Park West is in the perfect location, it has been such a relief being able to walk everywhere. The office and maintenance teams clearly want to, and enjoy helping others, and it makes the entire moving process very easy. Im excited to enjoy the area, since I have so much more time without needing to deal with traffic.
Maint review: Maint techs were great! Stopped by in one visit and were able to address my concerns. They provided me w a call (I have a pup) afterwards to notify me that cooper was ok! Couldnt of had asked for better communication. Oh, to top it all off, they left a note to let me know what was done!
This was the worst experience I have had from living in apartment 8+ years. The staff turned over twice during our time there and there were constant issues that ranged from- water being turned over 15+ during our stay, over 60 spaces in garage taken up by "Construction" which never progressed over year stay, Gym flooding leaving us with no gym for 9 months, Air conditioning breaking down on 3 separate occasions causing apartment temperature to exceed 85 degrees for 5 days at one point and many other examples. DO NOT SIGN HERE unless you are willing to deal with issue after issue with no resolution or real explanation

Commons Park West has been nothing but amazing! We love our apartment and our view is breathtaking. Management has been nothing but great!! There are some things that need to be fixed and worked on within the building, but its an OLD buildingThats inevitable! No complaints!!
