Property Ratings at Colony Parc
The management team here at Colony Parc is incredible and so is the maintenance staff! Chasity, Darleen, and Jerry have been so helpful and kind to me and very accommodating with requests that I’ve had. Also, anytime I’ve ever needed anything fixed. It happens either the same day or the next day which is really awesome. Very reliable! I’ve lived here for a year and just upgraded to a two bedroom apartment and they made the transition very easy for me! I love that there’s two pools and a gym overall, it’s just an excellent and safe place to live!
Fernando saved us on our moving day and was always very friendly to us and our dog. Everyone here is nice, loved my dog, and this enhanced our stay here. Grounds are perfect for pets (except more bark is needed), and they have a nice pool area. Chasity is probably one of the kindest people you will ever meet. Darlene was nice to extend our stay and very helpful. Jerry always had a smile for us and our puppy. The majority of people here from the groundskeepers, repairman and office staff are fantastic. The only reason we left is because very loud construction started across from our apartment 7 months from when we moved in. I wish management could have been more transparent about this. Maybe it was in the fine print, but regardless, it’s only fair to disclose this *very* important detail verbally to tenants. We would have waited to move here when construction was finished because we hate moving - so much work and extra expense. :(
Property Manager at Colony Parc, Responded To This Review
Hello, Thank you for sharing your experience at Colony Parc. We're glad to hear that Fernando, Chasity, Darlene, and Jerry, made your stay enjoyable. We appreciate your feedback about the need for more bark and the construction noise. We strive for transparency and regret any inconvenience caused. Sincerely, The Colony Parc Team
Not ok. Have been enduring multiple construction men BANGING loud hammers inside my balcony while I attempt to work and take conference calls from morning to evening. Absolutely unacceptable!!! Endless construction noise which is ungodly loud, pervasive, and makes it literally impossible to get any work done. This is massively impacting my work schedule, productivity and now mental health as I am unable to rest, relax or get any focus time in. As someone who works in software from home and is not able to work from my home office or even take conference calls from home at this point due to insane noise from morning to evening and have gotten zero actual dates of this project ending or support from Darlene at the local leasing office. She was rude and dismissive. When I asked when the construction project would be complete as I’m now spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars having to work from a collaborative work space instead of my home, the reply was “I don’t know - it’s indefinite.” Ummm what?’ Is that an acceptable response to a tenant in crisis? I think not. Chasity was admittedly at least kind about the situation as I called the office repeatedly about this issue frustrated to the point of tears. She offered that I make use of the business center and while that is genuinely appreciated, I work remotely for a reason - so I can be comfortable at home in my office with a multi-monitor desk setup, ergonomic chair for lower back issues, etc. If this continues will have no choice but end my lease as this is unacceptable and unsustainable for any remote working executive. Incredibly disappointing experience living here so far. Already sent in a formal complaint to Greystar with 0 response or resolution from the parent company as well. Along with videos of level 10 hammer and construction noise which makes it impossible to rest, relax, or do any type of work from home.

Thank you for providing us with your valuable feedback. We spoke over the phone in May and discussed a mutual solution without further disruption to your work schedule. We appreciate you calling Colony Parc home and create a better positive experience. Feel free to contact me at the leasing office 805-642-9701 with any additional concerns. Best, Chasity Powell
My family was rushed to find an apartment. The office staff, Darlene, is extremely helpful and friendly. She is great with communication and well informed about th unit. My family so happy to be here.
Chasity, the leasing agent is absolutely incredible! She always makes sure we are taken care of and goes out of her way to ensure we are comfortable. Great area and kind workers.
The unit was clean and spotless, the grounds were well-kept, the neighbors were respectful and quiet, the location is very convenient to shopping and highways and the management team were pleasant, responsive and honest. As an added bonus, at the beginning of my lease they added a washer/dryer in my unit at no additional cost to me. And when I moved out they only charged me a small fee for carpet cleaning so I got most of my deposit back, which I heard is rare for most commercial rentals. All in all, great place to stay!
i am a traveler for work and this place is Not bad, has room for myself and my dog. Rent is a tad high, but not terrible for one of the few that allow larger dogs and being centrally located. Just wish my patio was in that the back not front. But it is something i can live with. Staff is decent. Groundskeepers are nice.
We love books & coffee, so when we saw that Colony Parc was across the street from a two-story Barnes & Noble, and walking distance to both Starbucks and Coffee Bean, we had to check it out. Location: While Colony Parc is visible right off the 101 Freeway Telephone exit, it's only accessible by a quiet, tree-lined side street. Within 10 minutes of this complex: Downtown Ventura; Ventura Pier & Beach; the Pacific View Mall; The Collection in Oxnard. Lots of shops, restaurants. Colony Parc is next to farmland, so we can sunsets from our kitchen window and the mountains the parking lot. Rent (& Pets): It's hard to find affordable rent in Ventura, but when we moved, Colony Parc was the best price for the location. The rent is going to jump $100/month if we renew our 12-month lease, though. (Note: while they're cat & dog friendly, it's $50/month per pet, plus deposit. We pay $100/month for our 2 cats.) Staff: Office staff was helpful and responsive. Maintenance staff is friendly (always smile and wave) and prompt (within a day or two of a request). The grounds are well kept and clean. Apartment: We're in a 2 bed / 2 bath; we haven't had issues with anything (no bugs, no rodents, nothing broken), except for a weak flush on the guest toilet. In the summer, running the ceiling fan and opening the windows are all you really need to keep things cool. We love the walk-in master closet. Utilities: You pay for everything (water, gas, electric, trash, sewer). Water/trash/sewer are paid with rent (~$60-$75). There is no air conditioning, only a heater. Amenities/Grounds: There's plenty of greenery and trees around that make things feel peaceful; the complex is fairly quiet. Next to the office is a well-kept pool area and jacuzzi. A second, smaller pool & jacuzzi adjoins a 24-hour gym. Laundry is coin-based, unfortunately; wash and dry are $1.50 each. Small laundry stations are located throughout the complex, and a large laundry room is next to the Leasing Office. It's been a good home to us this past year, and it's worth checking out if you're looking to live in Ventura
Overall, we are happy at this apartment. Pros: The grounds are well maintained and the neighbors are pretty quiet. The 2 bedroom unit is spacious with lots of windows for light. The complex is conveniently located near freeways, restaurants and stores. The complex has a gym, 2 pools, and tennis court access- so yay for healthy living! We have pets, and this is one of the few pet friendly apartments I could find in the area. Cons: The individual units could use a little work. The plumbing has had issues. The lights in the apartment often flicker and the breaker has overloaded a few times in the last couple of months. The kitchen and bathrooms are dated (probably last updated in the 90's) and could use a little revamping. All utilities are the responsibility of the tenant, including water and sewer plus apartment insurance (on top of rent, power and gas). There are multiple laundry facilities, however, sometimes they can be crowded or messy and the washer and dryer are a little expensive at $1.50 (or $1.75 for larger loads) each. I would recommend this complex, especially if you're new to the area and want to get your acclimated to the city. But I don't know if this is will be our forever home. We'll see...
