Located 20 miles northeast of Charlotte, Concord combines historical charm with contemporary living. Current rental rates average $1,340 for a one-bedroom apartment. The city centers around Concord Mills mall and a downtown district featuring independent merchants, antique stores, and a seasonal farmers market. Outdoor recreation opportunities abound at Lake Fisher's 534-acre park, while motorsports enthusiasts appreciate the proximity to Charlotte Motor Speedway and NASCAR team facilities.
Concord's story began in 1750 when German and Scots-Irish settlers named the area "Concord" after resolving their differences about the county seat's location. Today, the city continues to grow while preserving its historical character. Residents have access to healthcare at Atrium Health Cabarrus and higher education at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. The historic courthouse, now home to the Cabarrus Arts Council, anchors the local arts community.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Chesney Woods Apartments
Just toured the property, beautiful newly updated units with neutral colors and nice finishes! The private patio is perfect for relaxing after work and I love how the property is located off a long private drive and is surrounded by trees and green foliage! Located in the city, but feels like the country with zero traffic noise!
I've been at Chesney Woods for about a year now. The property manager is very nice and super helpful. The complex is usually pretty quiet and folks are friendly but also keep to themselves. Only issue I've ever had is one of my neighbors smokes in their unit and I can smell it in mine. Comes with the territory of a townhouse but hella annoying. Do wish they would bring the pool back but all in all, I love my townhouse!
Worst place ever. Maintenance sucked, the landlord was rude and talked down to you. The bugs during summer months were all over, pool is a dump and the place is so small for what it’s worth.
$900 for a pet fee?! You will never get that back even with no damage. Maintenance is slow, couldn’t fix things. Rent goes up every year. I felt claustrophobic in living room and the kitchen. We had had ants downstairs constantly when place was clean and huge water bugs in the bathrooms. I would find pieces of bugs everywhere all the time.
Poor maintenance, hostile property manager, Ever escalating rent, shabby, shoddy, no pool even tho one is advertised, bad neighborhood with lots of crime. Do not recommend
Property Manager at Chesney Woods Apartments, Responded To This Review
The last 2 reviews were written by the same tenants. Without communication to the office they opted to skip out on their lease during Christmas when the office was closed. Keys deposited into the drop box. I was able to turn their unit and rent within a month alleviating them from their further rental obligation. Our rent increases in the 12 years I have been here has been a mere $15.00 increase so they really exaggerated the increase to make it sound as if it were huge. They were also given a notice of the increase prior to signing a new lease and could have move out at the end of their new lease. People going thru unlocked cars happen everywhere and since the incident he was referring to it has not happened again. He harassed youths walking thru the property and they retaliated by throwing items at his patio damaging the screen door. Prior to these tenants skipping out they had nothing but praise for the office. Their reviews are unfair and is vengeful because they owe a months rent. They should be grateful I was able to rent it out as quickly as I did considering there is not a lot of movement during January.
The outside is very shabby, dated and gets lots of water runoff from the hill. Kids from a neighboring complex trespassing all the time, rifling thru unlocked cars. They advertise for a pool and permanently closed it this year. Repairs are no more then the bare minimum and good luck trying to get the air conditioning or plumbing fixed. Management is hostile and snarky. This is One of the WORST places in Concord to live at and they keep jacking up the rent.
I moved in almost 1 year ago. Staff worked with me and my credit as I was leaving a marriage under bad circumstances. This place gave me peace of mind that I so needed at that time. I moved out with 1 and half months left on my lease as my husband and I worked things out. The Landlord told me she would rent the place as quickly as possible in order to save me the last months rent. It was rented so I did not have to pay the last month and my complete deposit was returned to me. So thankful for this place during my time of need.
I am moving from Chesney Woods after 4 years. I am moving because I have purchased my own home. I have enjoyed my home here at Chesney Woods and have found it to be very peaceful. Management is good and the property is kept well. Maintenance is quick to resolve issues. If I had not been able to buy my own home I would be staying here.
The last review is clearly written by management. It is a good place for one or two people and it is quiet if you have quiet neighbors. Walls are thin. Can tell they are older apartments. Rent goes up and if things need to be replaced, they replace them with cheaper items. (Metal faucet was leaking, replaced with a plastic faucet. Replaced flooring with cheap laminate flooring that doesn't match with the rest). Also the kitchens are tiny. Good place though for one or two people just not at what they want for rent compared to other places for rent.

This gentleman moved in 10/08 (rent 575.) and moved out 12/16.(rent 640) In 1/16 he had a water leak in his 1/2 bath which required the flooring to be replaced. He was upset that we did not replace it with the same vinyl. In 8 years vinyl has changed and it could not be replaced with the same. The change was not noticeable outside of the bath itself. In 8 years his rent went up $65.00. He got very upset with every rent increase.
I am in the city but feel like I'm in the country. Chesney Woods has created a haven in a city. Surrounded by trees and quiet. It is a small complex which I love. There is plenty of room to walk my dog. The management is friendly and willing to help. I love my townhome. It is perfect for me and my dog. I would definitely recommend this complex to anyone who wants to be in town but live a quiet life at the end of the day.
