Edmonton is known for being a vibrant urban city in the center of the wilderness. Residents experience 18 hours of sunlight a day in the summer and how the first snowfall of the winter transforms the river valley into a winter wonderland. In Downtown, you’ll find skyscrapers, plenty of shops, and plenty of diversity and culture. As Alberta’s capital, there are loads of things to do in the city, from skiing and biking to visiting farmers’ markets and art galleries.
Since nature is so close to Edmonton, you'll find plenty of recreational activities. Elk Island National Park is a 30-minute drive from the city. The North Saskatchewan River Valley gives you the feeling of the countryside and wilderness right inside the city. Residents love visiting the Muttart Conservatory to see natural wonders. The architect Peter Hemingway designed the four glass pyramids that comprise the conservatory and hold tropical, temperate, and arid biomes.

Property Ratings at Century Gardens
This is the worst place I have ever lived. The false advertising is gross (you do not get to move in early and they do not offer 6-month leases, but it's the first thing they advertise on this site). The property is not kept clean, it's been vandalized multiple times, things are left broken for months (the handle to one of the exit doors has been broken with sharp plastic being exposed for months). Constant short-notice for building repairs and limited access to services. Receiving deliveries to this building is a nightmare (between management that truly doesn't give a crap and a confusing system for delivery drivers - it's a nightmare). Management is never available and the fire alarm goes off way too much. The last time we had to evacuate the building was at 4:30 am one morning.
Management is non-existent. You try to hold them accountable to anything and they simply ignore you. It’s like dealing with a bank. They are 100% focused on profit and don’t see their tenants as humans or this being their home at all. The bookable room is not private what-so-ever. When we booked it for a birthday party other residents kept coming into the room “can I just grab a coffee”, and staff members kept walking through the middle of the party “I have to leave my office and walk through here” (ummm there’s a second entrance you could be using for your office and secondly - a staff member should not be interrupting my daughters birthday party!) I booked the room on a Saturday too. Like seriously you care about your tenants so much you will continually walk through disrupting my kids birthday.
This property is NOT luxury property at all. There are a MOUNTAIN of rules. We've had property management people enter our apartment twice now to try to show it to others. Our apartment is still coming up on their list as available. TWICE they've entered (and that's when we've been home, how many times has it happened when we weren't here). Maintenance staff is untrained and unprofessional. They will charge you for everything from not folding your cardboard properly to a clogged sink drain (yes, they can make you pay for your own maintenance). ALSO, no propane at all on decks. When we were being showed the apartments (at lightning speed) my 7-year -old daughter and I were talking about where to set up the BBQ and how we were going to make the deck look (with the Property Management employee standing right there with us). She allowed my daughter and I to get excited about creating an outdoor space, but NEVER ONCE MENTIONED that we wouldn't be able to do that. Now I know they are under "no obligation" to say anything, but it's about being a good and decent person. You knew we were planning to use the space in a way that wasn't allowed. Something should have been said. Also, windows are not air tight (the apartment can be 25 degrees but the bedroom with the window is FREEZING), I can hear other apartments doing laundry, the floor is FREEZING in the bedroom as well. Also, no one under 13 is allowed in the gym. So in the middle of winter when my husband isn't home I won't be able to use the gym because my daughter is not allowed to come in the room with me (not even to walk on a treadmill while I do a workout). So the "luxury" features are not actually accessible to a lot of residents. We moved into a brand new apartment in August (I even had to wipe away dry wall dust from the entire apartment, that's how new!) but things are already falling apart, the paint is incredibly sloppy, damages before we even moved in, scratched glass, wobbly shelves fixed with random screws instead of actual shelf supports.... the list goes on and on - seriously if you don't have to - don't.
