Property Ratings at Cascades at the Hammocks
Love my new place. I have a beautiful lake view. The complex is well kept. I enjoyed drinking my tea relaxing from my balcony. Maintenance are on top of my request and office people are friendly. My dog loves to take walks around the lake.
This place is crap. Nothing is luxurious about this complex. The other reviewer is absolutely right about service request and everything he or she mentioned. They give you the option to choose to have resident present while service is being done. They lie and say they came while you were away. WHY ARE YOU COMING WHILE IM AWAY?? They don’t come. My place is infested with bugs. And they have not fixed the situation. My pets are bitten up and so are my ankles. My rent went up $725 during the pandemic. The apartments aren’t worth the rent increase at all. And at that they only gave 1 month notice of this increase.
The new management company has taken a sadly cutthroat approach to rising rents amid the pandemic. From 2020 to 2021, my rent increased 15%. From 2021 to 2022, my rent increased 33%. This is $700 in the span of 20 months with no improvements of any kind. Who, living in this housing, has had a $700 monthly salary increase? The walls and windows are very thin. You can hear everything happening in other apartments and outside and they do not enforce quiet hours at the pool. My ice maker doesn’t work, I cannot pull out both dishwasher shelves without the dishwasher itself falling out, and the exterior locks are not well-fitted to the doors. The location is not ideal, as it is not convenient to any highways, expressways, or public transportation. Parking lot spaces are too tight, making parking challenging. Management is not receptive to feedback and their written communications on our resident portal are quite poor in terms of content and grammar. The community is nice, but it is far from most professional and recreational areas.
The apartment is really nice , the employees were really nice to us and really helpful to us so I really appreciate their gesture. Must recommend everyone to visit this place
Be careful when placing service requests with this place. They offer an option to require resident presence for repairs but ignore that because the contract says otherwise (according to them on the phone)...so I'm not sure why that option is there. No security. No cameras. No parking enforcement. No towing. Parking lot is like a Mad Max movie. People park however they please, even nonhandicap double park in the handicap sections. I honestly don't feel anything luxurious about this place. My first day in my apartment the floor produced 3 buckets of black muck water when they charge residents a cleaning fee(if needed) when they move out so why that floor was filthy is beyond me. You hear every neighbors door open and close. That shouldn't be heard in a luxury apartment building. Honest review from a current resident because sometimes you don't see or hear these things in the community board because they pick and choose what they post to cater a certain property image. ***Wait a few months before considering this place as it has new ownership and there is constant construction***
