Hopewell is a suburban community located just minutes south of Richmond on the banks of the James River. Established as a port city in the early 17th century, Hopewell’s City Point district holds the distinction of being the oldest continuously-inhabited English settlement in the country. Surrounding City Point, the northeast corner of town is filled with vintage buildings and storefronts, including the landmark Beacon Theatre.
The city remains an important industrial community, with the chemical plants near the waterfront serving as some of the biggest employers in the area. Due to the vast range of affordable apartments, condos, and houses available to rent, Hopewell is also a popular option for Richmond-area commuters seeking budget-friendly living arrangements and a quaint small-town style.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Canterbury Townhomes
I have been complaining to management for 5 months now about the mice in my apartment. I can't leave anything on the table in the dining area. Last week there was one in the bread I forgot to put back in the fridge. I find mouse dropping on the stove, kitchen table, on top of microwave, behind the stove, in the draw under the stove, shoe boxes in my closet, and on my nightstands. I moved my bedroom furniture around because of getting up to one on the night stand by my bed. My daughter had one in her room that jumped down the vent in the floor. All the vents are now closed. I was notified its not covered in my lease. But according to tenants rights I have the right to live in a safe and sanitary environment? This is not it. I was told to go through my apartment and fill any holes I found. I sealed the closet under the stairs because I found dropping there first. I pulled out old cable wires and sealed the holes with liquid cement. I put down traps, bought peppermint oil, moth balls, the plug in repellents, repellent sprays, remember to remove trash for the night, and placed towels under the doors a night. Nothing is working. But they are consistent about towing vehicles for expired tags or inspection stickers. The only hole that is open in the apartment that I know of is the one maintenance made when I had a pipe burst in the wall and water was spraying everywhere a year ago.

We're truly sorry about the issues you've been experiencing, I can guarantee we have been working to solve your issue. We understand how frustrating this must be and we take your concerns very seriously. We strive to provide a safe and comfortable living environment for all our residents.
I moved in to Canterbury Townhome this November. I am very impressed by the great pest control the apartment did.
Don't waste your money on this...they raised my rent 3 times since I've been they...they don't fix anything and they had 5 different landlords in one year I didn't know who I was giving my money to...they summer time they always shooting and fighting...don't take your kids there.
Canterbury has improved tremendously since we have a new Property Manager. I've been leaving here almost 9 yrs, and this is the first time since I've been here that things have change. You don't have to wait on maintenance for weeks at a time. I must say it's getting better
