Known as both Bull City and the City of Medicine, Durham is known for its college-town vibe, array of tech companies, and thriving arts scene. Former textile and tobacco mills have given way to art galleries, unique restaurants, co-working spaces, and spacious lofts. Durham is the proud home to Duke University, a cutting-edge research institution dressed in Gothic architecture.
Entrepreneurship defines the culture in Durham, from tech startups to eclectic food trucks turned restaurants, and everything in between. From the handcrafted goods at the Mothership to the national retailers at the Streets of Southpoint, Durham has an abundance of shopping options. You’ll find locals enjoying the Durham Farmers Market and Food Truck Rodeo at Central Park, visiting the Duke Lemur Center (the largest in the world), kayaking at Eno River State Park, and exploring the interactive exhibits at the Museum of Life and Science.

Property Ratings at The Churchill
The maintainence is not done at all. They ride around on the carts smoking all day. The office people are not friendly. Their are a few i have encountered with that are great. I love the area because it was close to my job.
It’s a beautiful community and the management definitely cares about it’s tenants!
I Love living in this community it is quiet family and pet friendly and I feel safe.

Hi there! Thanks so much for letting us know about your experience with The Churchill. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you; we are more than happy to help!
Not the most amazing luxury apartment they try to say it is. But definitely a good place for your first apartment but don't stay here longer than a year. They take about a week or so on maintenance and all the appliances are quite old (unless you got a renovated one).

Hi there! We'd like very much to work with you to resolve your impression, so if you're willing to discuss, please reach out to us at thechurchillmgr@greystar.com and we'll figure it out together.
Living at Churchill has been a frustrating experience due to poor maintenance and excessive fees. The unit itself is in bad condition, with issues ranging from malfunctioning appliances to plumbing, HVAC, and electrical concerns. When problems arise, it takes an unreasonably long time for maintenance to address them, often requiring multiple follow-ups. On top of that, the fees are overwhelming. There are numerous charges that feel excessive, and when paying through their online portal, hidden fees appear, making rent even more expensive than expected. Overall, the lack of proper upkeep and the constant unexpected costs make living here more stressful than it should be. I would not recommend Churchill to anyone looking for a hassle-free rental experience.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We sincerely regret any frustration you've experienced and want to assure you that we are actively working to improve. We now have a brand-new maintenance team under the leadership of a tenured supervisor who is dedicated to providing better service and rebuilding relationships with residents who may have faced issues in the past. Regarding the recent Duke Electricity outage, this was unfortunately out of our control, but our staff responded promptly and coordinated a technician to service our community the very next day. As a Greystar community, we prioritize fee transparency and do not charge residents outside of what is listed in their lease agreement. If you notice additional fees when paying through the resident portal, these are convenience fees applied only to certain payment methods. To avoid them, you can pay in the office, at a participating eMoney location, or via eCheck—all of which are fee-free options. If you need help setting up a payment method, please visit our office, and our team will be happy to assist you. We truly appreciate your residency and would love the opportunity to improve your experience. Please reach out to us so we can discuss any remaining concerns. Best, Danielle Jackson The Churchill Management Team

Thank you so much for the kind review and five-star rating
I recently moved in April and all I can say that it’s been quite the experience. Campus Crossing of Durham is a great place for a young professional to live. I recently had some trouble with the cleanliness of my roommates and management quickly handled the situation. Ms Nyke was very helpful during this process. She is very understanding and is willing to work with you if you’re honest with her. If I could give them more stars I would. Kudos to the entire Campus Crossing of Durham staff. Thank you again.
