Tucked just north of Miami International Airport, Miami Springs carries a piece of aviation history in its streets. The city was founded in the 1920s by Glenn Hammond Curtiss, known as "The Father of Naval Aviation," and was originally designed as a planned community called Country Club Estates. That thoughtful origin still shows today in the Pueblo Revival architecture that lines its residential blocks, giving the city a look unlike almost anywhere else in South Florida.
Life here moves at a pace that feels removed from the surrounding metro, even though Downtown Miami, Brickell, and Wynwood are all within ten miles. The tree-lined streets of historic Westward Drive anchor the city's social core, where local shops and eateries sit alongside professional offices. Miami Dade College operates nearby campuses, and the Miami Springs Golf and Country Club adds a recreational anchor to the community.
