Beloved for its proximity to both the Jersey Shore and New York City, the central region of Middlesex County sits about 40 miles southwest of Midtown Manhattan. Nearby New Brunswick, home to Rutgers University, provides access to a rich, local arts and culture hub. This neighborhood is ideal for those seeking a quiet, suburban setting not far removed from nearby entertainment and amenities. Mid- and low-rise apartment communities in the northern section of the neighborhood give way to more single-family homes fit for a variety of renters. Interstate 95 and a host of other thoroughfares make commuting around the area a breeze.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Brooklawn Gardens
Roach infestation and maintenance is negligent, don't move here.
Too many maintenance issues with the apartments and the crew can't keep up with the workload. You put in a request and you have to call multiple times to get someone to come out. They also claim they have a shortage of supplies. Some of the older tenants claim they have been dealing with the same issues for years. We should have better service for the amount of money we pay here.
I have been living here for the last couple of years and felt that I should drop a note to inform people looking for an apartment to come here. It has a safe environment and is nicely laid out. My apartment is spacious and very nice. I find the area very convenient for shopping. My neighbors are always there if needed. If I have any problems the staff is very efficient especially at night when they will come out for an emergency.
Very nice, helping people, good community, very fast maintenance request, beautiful lake, many parks, cheap rent. All staff is very helping including leasing office, neighbors are very kind and good atmosphere to live here.
Well maintained, more open space, very safe place to stay. Good neighbors...Very friendly office staff and response time for maintenance is very good and solved within hours. Near to all the schools, parks and public transportation. Miss staying in Brooklawn.
This is my first apartment on my own and I love it, especially the price, the balcony, and living so close to the lake. The superintendent and maintenance guys are super nice.
These apartments fall in the crappiest category. Ants, roaches in the kitchen, and I'm the cleanest person on this planet! The neighborhood is very loud with children and i can never take a nap Did i mention i need a new place to live?
Right in back of the beautiful Kennedy Park, the spacious apartments are nice. Neighbors, not so much....
