Located only about seven miles from downtown, East Memphis provides an active, urban lifestyle with a little more green space and a cozier feel. East Memphis is home to the University of Memphis, a public research university with several research centers, including the FedEx Institute of Technology. Because of its proximity to downtown and the presence of the university, East Memphis is a thriving business hub. It is also a shopping destination for many Memphis residents, home to the Laurelwood Shopping Center, the Eastgate Shopping Center, and Oak Court Mall.
East Memphis is flanked by two large parks. Overton Park, on the northwest side, contains the Links at Overton Park golf course, the Brooks Museum, the Overton Park Limestone Running Trail, the Levitt Shell amphitheater, the Old Forest State Natural Area, and the Overton Park Bike Plaza. The Memphis Zoo sits just outside of Overton Park.

Property Ratings at Brookhaven Lofts
Right vibes came when I was shown the studio apartment on the first floor a week after it opened and I rented it on the spot even though that wasn’t my intention at all. I was so impressed with the space and the feeling I got as I entered the apartment:it was spacious and welcoming with the high ceiling and large windowed sliding doors. I was impressed by the spacious. bathroom and shower so I rented it on the spot and moved out of my home earlier than I expected because it felt so good to be in my new apartment which was smaller, more modern; I also knew that everything had to be more organized and compartmentalized and for me these were all good things, since I was ready to simplify my life. The fact that I had a great yoga studio close by, great restaurants close by, great grocery stores close by and great shopping close by were just bonuses, which I did very much enjoy also.
I really enjoy living here; moved here from FL and was immediately comfortable in my new apt! The tall ceilings giving the unit a really open and expansive feel ! Good sleep, good environment, neighbors, - great management with online portal . Location of the property is first class- commuting anywhere in the City takes a few min- extremely central . The Circle or Horseshoe road has a great energy- people, multiple businesses, giving off a great vibe but no noise!Walk up deluxe when you feeling it ! I cant see myself living anywhere else in this City- Im a fan of homes and an environment that are both refreshing and positive !
I have lived here for a year and a half now and it is fantastic! The apartments are beautiful on the inside with high-end finishes and super high ceilings! The property is super clean and the management does a great job paying attention to detail. A huge bonus is the location. Walk right down the street to sports bar and all kinds of restaurants including some really high-end ones.
I lived at this property shortly after it opened. It was a great unit with modern finishes. The location was great and I could walk to about 10 restaurants and other stores that were nearby. All of my neighbors were friendly. I can recommend!!
Rented an Airbnb for a while here and it was miserable. The train tracks are across the street and the horn blows all night. Also,the walls are so thin you can hear every intimate moment from your neighbors including coughing and passing gas.

Thank you for the review above. Yes, there is a train that runs through the full city of Memphis literally cutting it in half, however our property is approximately a half a mile where it crosses and horn blows. During construction we were extra careful to add above and beyond soundproofing insulation for the property. The great news is we do not allow Airbnb at the property anymore. And we have had no other resident complaints. Thank you again and we are here if you have any other concerns.
