Briarwood Apartments and Townhomes

So far it has been nice. I have enjoyed the property and the amenities, my dog loves the dog park so it has been fun taking her on her walks.

Good apartment, old but good management! Ample parking space. Good sized rooms and common spaces are huge. Overall good apartment, and beautiful space to live in.

It has been great living here these past two years. The property managers are super helpful and so are the Maintenance team members. They are very friendly and open to help with any questions

Very spacious, but finishes are sloppy. For some units, there is no in-unit washer and dryer and the ones provided in the basement are old and look like they’ve never been cleaned.

It's been great so far. Maintenance has been timely and receptive and the apartment staff have been great too. It's the kind of community and home I was hoping for

Great place to live - the location is great, the staff are helpful and communicative, and there are a few amenities that enhance the living arrangements.

Living at Briarwood has been nice since I moved in a few months ago. The neighbor is quiet and everyone I’ve met so far has been kind. The dog park is a great amenity and so are the bikes I like to take for rides. The townhomes/apartments could be a little more of quality in terms of pricing. With loud cracking stairs, no bedroom lights and some electrical problems, there are definitely things that could be improved. However, in all the staff are great and so is the community, I’d definitely recommend moving here if someone is considering.

I’ve lived at briarwood for two years now and have enjoyed it very much. Only downside is it isn’t very updated except the bathroom counters. Community is nice and quite though which is a big bonus.

No complaints, everything works and is cheap enough comparatively. It is a nice place. The area is quiet, almost never hear noise other than the busses.

My experience at Briarwood has been good. I am impressed with the maintenance team because they respond to issues within 24 hours. The recreational facilities makes things fun.

Everyone from office and maintenance are so nice! They love dogs so much. Cute park/outdoor gym. Pretty in the fall/winter. So much scenery and wildlife.

The staff are very friendly, accomodating, and easy to talk to, and they are quick to respond to any needs/repairs/questions I have. I enjoy living in this nice, quiet community within State Colege.

so far it is so cozy and i love it! i don’t know what else i could say. so far it has been easy to feel at home! i only wish the bedrooms weren’t carpet

This a good place some of the neighbors are OK some are are mean and some can be evil But other than that, it’s a good place to live. I appreciate what I have.

It’s great however I was unable to get a parking pass and have nowhere to park. Regardless the amenities and houses are fantastic. I’m looking forward to this next year living at briarwood

Old building but spacious and well lit rooms. Maintenance needs to be proactive. Quiet, free parking, ymca and bus stops closeby. Good environment.

Rooms super spacious and very well lit. The staff is nice. The building is a little old though. Maintenance takes its time to get things done. Because building is old, the bathroom door gets jammed which the maintenance hasn't fixed yet.

I just moved into this brand-new apartment complex, and I'm impressed! The modern design and amenities are top-notch. Chelsea was incredibly helpful throughout the move-in process, making everything smooth and easy. Highly recommend!

The staff here at Briarwood has been nothing but amazing over the phone since we first applied in April. As we got to meet everyone in person today during the move-in it was no different, everyone was kind and wonderful to be around which meant a lot.

Great move in went very smoothly and the office staff was sweet and friendly. They were very helpful and made sure all of our needs were met!

Management is very nice and responds quickly. I haven’t had any issues with them since moving in. Maintenance does a good job of fixing and restoring things that need improvements.

This place is atrocious. The leasing agents are of absolutely no help. The apartment is given to you in utter filth, the walls are crumbling down. The apartment is moldy and disgusting. The property is not maintained in the winter and the walkways are left a sheet of ice. They charge you ridiculous fees at move out and are absolutely unfounded. Do not move in here, there are plenty of other places in state college that have much cheaper rent and a much better living experience

I lived here for a little over a year, just moved out and i have no complaints. Office staff is really nice and helpful every time i’ve called or went into the office. The maintenance staff is fast to respond to requests for any reason, emergency or not. The two main guys who usually come to fix the problems are so kind and don’t make you feel like a hassle. Honestly loved living here.

The maintenance staff is great & the townhomes are pretty decent for the rent. Something bothersome about this place: Property Management tends to do inspections or visits very frequently & always gives us very little to no heads-up. Additionally, the staff that do the visits are very quick to let themselves in if you don't answer the door quickly enough, so you have to keep up with the limited-warning emails or you can get caught in a very awkward situation.

The Briarwood office personal offers promptness on our requests. We had a leak in the ceiling that they addressed right away. And they have good protocols when it comes to safety in the apartment.

Average experience. It says newly renovated but the renovation work is sloppy and I can hear everything the upstairs neighbors are doing. The kitchen, cabinets, and closets are also not enough space.

Just moved in. The move in process was smooth, but if you are getting the top floor room it will be very hot. AC does not reach up there well.

Overall, the apartment was nice and clean. Switching over my lease to another person took a bit longer than expected, and I also don't understand why my security deposit will be refunded to the new occupant taking over my lease and not myself, but it is a good place to stay.

Love it here! Great amenities and people. Move-in was so easy and great. Our dishwasher had to be fixed and they were fast with it. Everyone here likes helping you.

Overall, things have been great at Briarwood so far. We (me and my roommate) have had some complaints but the office has always been pretty quick about finding a solution for us.

Living at Briarwood for the past few years has been great, maintenance is very responsive and helpful, office staff are knowledgable and kind, and the living conditions are a sweet spot between cost and comfort. I am not sure if its due to the building age, but I noticed a lot of drafting, possibly due to poor insulation in the hot (when AC is on) and cold (when heat is on) months. Other than a few random occurancies, Briarwood is a great place to live if you're trying to get away from the hustle and bustle of downtown State College.

Calm community, great neighborhood, cooperative management and well-maintained apartments, beautiful scenery and a lot of utilities for kids and adults

The apartment is nice and things are well taken care of. The only thing is our AC does not work, but they did provide us with window AC units.

The environment is clean and well maintained. Also, the apartment community has recreational facilities which one can use to keep fit and healthy. Finally, environment is dog friendly.

Decent apartment, bad staff, bad snow removal. Nice area and dog park. Expensive in comparison to close apartments. Can get much more for less just down the road

Been living here for almost 4 months and I absolutely love it! Neighbors and staff are friendly and it’s in a great area. I highly recommend Briarwood!

To summarize: the rent is reasonable for the conditions of the apartments. The parking situation absolutely needs to be remediated, paying a 300-dollar towing fee for parking in my own assigned lot is wild. Multiple residents have been towed from their own parking spaces for forgetting to put up their placard, which I find unacceptable. However, the apartments themselves are not too bad---lots of space but are definitely showing wear and tear. Kitchens were recently updated but are already falling apart in some places. All of this being said, the amount of space you get for the price makes up for many of the smaller issues (but not the towing).

Great place to live and not too loud. It's a peaceful welcoming neighborhood that I am proud to be a part of. Maintenance is very efficient and friendly, and I never have to worry about something being broken for too long.

Briarwood is a great little community. The maintenance team and the office work flawlessly together executing work orders in a timely fashion. I’ve been very pleased with everyone and everything since moving in.

Great experience overall. The location is nice, there is a market nearby and not very far away from the campus. The bus is also convenience.

The staff at Briarwood are very nice and quick to address any issues that we may run into. The townhouse we live at is pretty cozy. Nothing spectacular, but it has been a very nice home. We have had a number of problems come up, but they are usually addressed quickly by the staff.

I enjoy the serene environment with the recreational activities. Also, the maintenance team normally respond to issues right on time which is very good.

It’s has been great to live here for the last year and a half. Positive and welcoming environment. They effectively communicate with us as residents and they are responsive.

Nice area, not too loud. Studio apartment is perfect size for one person. Super short commute to Penn State and bus stop across the street that takes you down town.

Staff in the leasing office were very organized and pleasant to work with. Apartment was in very good condition when I received my keys and everyone in the neighborhood seems very friendly.

As a whole, it is a fine place to live and priced pretty reasonably. I wish that the parking situation was a bit more lenient and the apartments themselves could use some updating.

Some quirks here and there from being an older building but overall has everything that I need. The surrounding community is really nice as well. Very cozy and fun to walk around the duck pond area especially with the nice fall foliage this time of year
