Tucked in the northwest corner of Cook County, suburbs such as Hoffman Estates, Palatine, South Barrington and Schaumburg vary widely in personality and composition. Schaumburg, the largest in population, is home to Ikea and Woodfield Mall, the largest mall in the Chicago area. Palatine, developed on a wooded marshland, comes in at a close second in size. Hoffman Estates, while smaller, is the most densely populated of the four suburbs and is home to AT&T's Midwest headquarters and Sears Holding Corporation. South Barrington, tiny in comparison, and arguably the most affluent in the area, is home to the famous mega church, Willow Creek Community Church.
Heavy traffic can double or triple commute times, so area locals know to check the highway reports before leaving home. Normal drive time into the city from this area is about 30 minutes via the Interstate 90 tollway. An easy 20 minute drive will take residents to O'Hare International Airport.

Property Ratings at Albion on Northwest
Re-posting this review since it seems my first one was deleted... Another reviewer of this property hit the nail right on the head when they said "Shiny on the outside but rotten and decaying on the inside". The pictures online look great, but it's incredibly misleading. I can't post pictures to this review, but expect the following in the common areas: Old carpet that is smelly and stained, broken light fixtures, leaking ceilings, poorly repaired and unsightly walls, cobwebs, etc etc. In your unit, you can expect: 10 layers of paint over every paint-able surface, dirty and stained carpet, doors that hardly open and close correctly, bent/broken blinds, damaged flooring, and the list continues. The property management team, while very kind in person, is completely inept. It's so hard to get them to follow through on anything that it starts to feel like malice. Calling the office will get you absolutely no where. You HAVE to go into the office physically to get somebody to talk to you. I could also write a novel on how hilariously bad the maintenance team is. To sum it up, they do the absolute bare minimum bandage 'fixes' and get annoyed when they have to come back when the 'fix' inevitably falls through. It truly feels as if the maintenance team has absolutely no accountability. TL;DR- Slum disguised as 'modern' and 'luxury' . Spend a little more and go somewhere else.

Don't rent here if you can afford anywhere else. The management is not helpful. After being hit by a car the rental I had was towed even though I talked to them and asked them what to do to avoid this. They would not waive the fee or assist in any other way. I spent 8 hours trying to sort it out with them for no help whatsoever. Waste your rent money elsewhere.

Management is terrible, the property is unsafe, you won’t get them to answer a phone call or email and I guarantee you regret renting from here almost as fast as the ink dries on the contract you signed.

Management is just pathetic. They won’t answer the phone during business hours. They won’t return a voicemail when they don’t answer. They won’t respond to emails sent to multiple office personnel. Oh and service requests through their app… you guessed it. Radio silence. Top it off with a heavy dose of cockroaches that they don’t do anything about, dark parking lots because 75% of the bulbs are burnt out and door locks that don’t work. they want to charge a premium but provide a sub-standard apartment. I could go on but the bottom line is you end up with a nightmare of a dump that you don’t get to move out of fast enough.

The management at this location will hang up on you if you have any requests after you move in. Before move in it will seem like they are willing to work with you, but they are extremely rude people. The towing company used at the location is also terrible and they do not take care of your car, mine was towed and they demanded $220 before I could get it back, after heading in to get my car tons of potholes were behind the fence and I had to drive through them to get out (I had called it in prior to the tow and they said it was fine, they lied). The residences I live by keep to themselves and are not very loud which is great! However, certain things like using the laundry facilities are disgusting with improper draining of the machines after wash (tons of sediment by a drain hole). I’d suggest not moving here.

I recently moved to Albion and so far I love it! My particular unit is very spacious, clean and QUIET! The office staff is very helpful and maintenance is great too! I look forward to my time with Albion. I highly recommend being here!

Please don't move here! Within a month of moving in it has been the worst experience of my life. Management is horrible and difficult to get a hold of. Way overpriced and half of the appliances in a brand new remodeled unit don't work. Bathroom and Bedroom doors wouldn't even latch. The towing company they use damaged my girlfriends car and refused to pay for damages. Extremely dirty and looks nothing like the pictures online. Please just look for other options, you will regret moving here.
