The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Ballantyne Commons of Columbus
Do NOT rent here. While the office and maintenance staff are pleasant, corporate policies and dealing with problems are most definitely NOT pleasant. Today’s issue is the noise being produced after work hours. I was warned that there would be noise this week while the carpet in the apartment above me was replaced, at NO point was I informed it would be after the normal work hours of 8am - 5pm. Work commenced at roughly 4 pm today. Knowing it would take more than an hour to do the work, I called to express my concern and was told they would carry on with the construction till 8:30 pm - the same cut off time residents have for parties and normal excess noise. When I brought to their attention that there is a huge difference between normal activities that are expected and construction work, they referred back to the residents’ guide for noise. Their excuse is they were unable to schedule a third party contractor to work during normal business hours. Let me be clear, this isn’t a little occasional noise, this is full on, nonstop, hammering, scraping, and demolition noises right above my head. It’s odd that a multi-million dollar company can only contract with labor that works after business hours, knowing residents will be inconvenienced and their evening disrupted. This is just one in a long stream of issues I have had since moving in the end of January. I can’t wait for my lease to end and to move. There have been many other issues and I have tried to be patient and understanding, but this is a step too far.
Where do I start, this place is out of control. the property manager is rude and can care less about your concerns they just recently sprayed the doors of the apartments with bleach and failed to notify of us this in advance. I came home and was bring groceries in, me and my girlfriend and i was holding the door for her to come in and the bleach ruined my Nike tech jacket. I called to advised them of what took place and the lady tells me its my fault. " she tells me that bleach is potent odor and that I should have smelled it in the breeze way." smh ! by the way the doors are even filthier than before they so called clean the door. just yesterday maintenance came and fixed my sink from vibrating when using Hot water and now the water wont drain from either side of the sink. lol oh yea its a new owner every year. And they just continue to find new things to charge us for.
Do not move here I am a current resident and I can’t wait to move the staff and manager are ride and lazy and the complex it’s self Is loud no security on the property this is definitely the worst complex ever

The short version: OVERPRICED, DOG POOP ON SIDEWALKS, PAPER THIN WALLS (if my neighbor sneezes, I hear it), EVERYTHING IS ALWAYS UNDER REPAIR, USELESS OFFICE STAFF (try calling the phone number right now, and I can guarantee you will never get a live person on the phone, but an answering machine that requires you to leave a message, but don't worry, they're just as useless in person)!

We feel certain this review is due to a disagreement with our notice to vacate policy. We would love for anyone to contact us and visit our community for a tour in person. We know you will love living here! Our friendly office staff is always ready to help our valued residents and guests. Thank you!
The apartment is nice, very clean with good maintenance department and nice neighbors for the most part. The office staff always smiles but beware of the horrible pool rules that are completely ridiculous. Such as NO DRINKING AT ALL OR YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE. The office manager is always being nosey and sometimes rude. Parking is absolutely insane! I have to park at another bldg most of the time if I get home after 6pm and the weekends there is never any parking. No reserved parking space for your apt like most places. Cars are continuously broken into and garages as well. However, they have an on site police officer that is always on call and will help out with any suspension of criminal activity. That makes it better. During school and in the mornings on weekdays plan on extra 15 minutes or more to get out of the complex due to it being across from 3 major schools and on a main road in the city. The Apts are newer and they are very nice but thin walls and floors, you can hear everything upstairs including the vacuum cleaners. For the money there are nicer places that are built better than The Crossings. The Rules here are absolutely insane and parking is a HUGE DEAL BREAKER.

Thank you for your feedback. We hope that you come back to tour in 2018 so that you can see all of the positive changes we have made with the new owners and new management team!
Beautiful apartments (inside and out) with very new and stylish appliances! The staff here are always super helpful and nice. 24 hour gym access. Gorgeous salt water pool supplied with towels and sunscreen for guests. Grills located near the pool and also around the property for tennant use! They also host special event nights, like back to school cookouts, Marcos Pizza Night, and much more. I dont feel like I'm living in an "apartment" here, it feels more like a home. Having toured multiple apartments in the area, I feel confident in our choice to sign a lease with The Crossings!

The Crossings is a great place to live. It is very convenient to shopping, great places to eat, the movies, schools, and so much more. We have numerous businesses that offer discounts and delivery specials. The pool is great. They have a water park, dog park, car wash, playground, grills, garages, storage units and even a volleyball court. They are great for those with disabilities and security needs. I would recommend living here to anyone.

This apartment is an excellent choice for anyone who wants to have a place for peace and quiet. I just love the way the apartment was on this website was just the way it was in person. The fact that also there are ceiling fans in each apartment is a big plus in the heat of the day in Georgia. I recommend this place to anyone.

Thank you for your kind words! We are happy you love our community. Spread the word to anyone looking for a place in Columbus, GA!
In over two years of living at The Crossings, there have been instances of lousy community members. Typically they are short lived, due to the staffs willingness to address the issues head on. Parking issues go in waves as the result of inconsiderate neighbors parking more vehicles than allowed on the property. I haven't had an issue with finding parking but maybe four times in over two years. The walls are not paper thin, however if you are not used to apartment life, have a loud neighbor or kids who like to play outside your apartment, you might feel that way. It's community life, not country life. Bottom line it's a great place to live for a working professional who wants to feel safe and a part of neighborhood.

To keep it short...Paper thin walls every noise is heard, limited parking (seen neighbors park in handicap spaces), difficult to exit the property, pet feces on sidewalks, narrow drive.
Property Manager at Ballantyne Commons of Columbus, Responded To This Review
Agree with pet feces. Feces ALL over the place. They don't enforce cleaning up after your pets. They should restrict pet bathroom to a certain location and not just outside the doorways.
