The maintenance is the absolute worst in the world. DO NOT trust them to do even the simplest jobs. This is the same idiot group that spray painted over rust in a sink, I guess forgetting running water went through there. Through a sink. Yea. Let that sink in. The changes and renovations they claim? It’s an actual lie: this went towards painting the exteriors and updating their office space. They took out a basketball and tennis court in favor of a tacky outdoor area where they spam you with emails to come to crappy events hosted by the bored owners. You do not get what you pay for at all. The interiors are older and have no ventilation system for the bathrooms or washing/drying machines. I have a huge file of complaints and pictures which are all being filtered through my lawyer as we have identified a number of contract breaches and will be recouping the money. Literally the worst apartment I’ve stayed in
Since Knightvest Residential took over in September 25, 2020. There have been many improvements in the quality of community living. The outside of the building have been power washed and painted. There have been a complete renovation of the community clubhouse. With the addition of a complete workout area. The whole place has been spiffed up to reflect the upscale living one would expect for Northwest Raleigh. I will say that it took a few months to get the current Management Team that is now staffing the complex in place. But they have been bringing about the changes that have turned this into premiere community. I have lived through three ownership groups. This is the fourth management team and this one tries the hardest to make your living experience here fantastic. I would not hesitate to say that conditions are better than they have ever been. One of the things that make or breaks a community is the maintenance staff. The current team is fantastic in handling problems. The maintenance staff gets to any need repair or problem in an extremely timely manner. I love living here, as the community is on the banks of beautiful Lake Lynn. Where there is a 2.2 mile hiking and biking path around the lake. Many people fish and boat on the lake. The Retreat Apartment Home Complex has tennis and basketball courts, a 24 hour fitness center, and a wash pit to clean and vacuum your car or truck. In warmer months , there is a large pool and sundeck. The community is very close to shopping and restaurants. •
Again, everything has been great since we moved in here last August (2019). Our apartments have both been clean and well-kept. Rent is appropriate but affordable, and the community is clean and comfortable. My favorite part is the easy-access to the Lake Lynn trail!
Maintenance has always replied to my service requests in a timely & courteous manner
It's a nice area and is quiet. Being right on Lake Lynn was lovely.
I would absolutely recommend this place to others. I wish it was more cost effective to live there. I get it being a business, but when its not even updated and you are expected to pay between $200 and $500 more a month to stay somewhere just seems out of place.

When I moved in they told me the smell was an initial one due to cleaning. When I get home, my apartment still has an odor. Also, when I moved in the cleaning company failed. I had to clean head to toe. The Clorox wipes were coming out filthy. There was something spilled along the side of the fridge they never even wiped off. You should pay me back whatever you pay your cleaning crew, as I did all the work.
Being able to smoke inside your Apt has been a complete turn off. Being an asthmatic it has cause me to have to go to the ER on numerous occasions.
I find that living here is very quiet and comfortable.
Everyone in the office make you know you are among family. All you have to do is ask. And it is done immediately.
Staff and maintenance have been really helpful and nice with the moving process making me feel comfortable in a new home. The community is quiet so far and like being near the lake, trail and recreation center!
Great location, but older with very dated appliances. And you share air with neighbors (breathing yummy cooking smells....but also carcinogenic cigarette smoke).
It is a good place with amazing access to the lake. The older nature of the complex will turn some away.
We have lived here for 4 months now and have been super happy here! Office staff as well as maintenance staff are first rate! Anytime I have put in a maintenance request within 2 hours they are here to fix the problem! Thanks for all you do!

Laid back atmosphere, well kept, clean facility along with great service.
The Office staff is always friendly and all my issues since moving have been resolved is a timely matter. Like the fact that they on top of the routine maintenance issues for the entire community.

It's because of the great atmosphere provided. Joe came in and handled things promptly and efficiently. He is the face of maintenance in my opinion.
It is an older apt. For the price, may just go to a newer apt community so can have hard wood floors and newer appliances, etc. But maintenance is prompt for issues, so that is good. Location is really good, though.
The maintenance team Team far exceeds my expectations everything they do. This is a very important factor in choosing a apartment community to live in.

Great Location! However, landscaping is in need of more updates. Looks bad when pulling into complex and in front of buildings. Bushes were removed and never replaced.

I would recommend the community on behalf of its proximity to the lake. Would not recommend due to: too many trees community lacks beauty landscape wise, mail boxes unsecure, very old appliances, windows and or insufficient indoor and outdoor lighting and lack of real exercise room no after hours drop box. (very important)
I've recommended this apartment community to several of my friends. I feel completely safe and I love how quiet it is!

I would recommend this complex because the building is older the rates are not too high - newer apartment complexes are much more expensive - but they are new.

I really appreciate the timely response re maintenance issues, and the peace & quiet here so far has been wonderful! I think the pricing is reasonable for the space and the office staff (especially Lin) have been very helpful.
Lincoln Mgmt & Maintenance Teams have improved the Community more in three months that they have been in place than its predecessors did in 3 years!!

It's a beautiful community. Quiet and with easy access to Lake Lynn. The Edgewater staff are all super friendly and helpful.
I am so comfortable here. I am an older , widowed woman. I am not afraid of anything around me. My neighbors are thoughtful and nice. Great place to be!!! I can even play my piano with no complaints. I hope that if anything I do bothers anyone living here, they will please let me know.
It is one of the few decent apt communities under $1000 a month in the area, and it it next to a greenway.
