      Neighborhood

      South Nashville is a sprawling district covering just over 15 square miles. The community extends from the southern edge of Downtown Nashville to the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere.       We lived here for 8 months and It was the worst experience we’ve had very had. Don’t let the pictures fool you. Our place was in ruins when we moved in and we had to be held up in a hotel for 3 nights. Once we moved in every single month there was a new issue with TERRIBLE response time, up to 2 months. Roaches, mold, broken dishwasher, there is no gym, gunshots every night, running toilet, mold clogging the sink, upstairs toilet started falling through the ceiling, the list goes on and on truly. On top of the inhabitable space the staff is ill informed and do not communicate with eachother. DO NOT MOVE HERE

      I regret moving to this apartment. It has been nothing but trouble. Appliances not connected leading to floods, carpets being cleaned right before move in leading to a wet carpet 2 days after the move in date, filthy porch, nothing about this screams ‘we care about our residents’. Trash, debris amongst other things litter the areas outside the apartment as well. Terrible presentation, would never and will NOT be extending the lease.

      My apartment is stupendous! Very roomy, lots of closet space, comfortable, and trash butler 5 nights each week. Maintenance is awesome, both routine and when I have a specific issue, they are very responsive and do a great job. Mgmt does its best to keep the property nice and attractive which I greatly appreciate. I also feel safe here in my apartment.

      I would never recommend these apartments to anyone. I was lied to about the state of my unit. I had another apartment that I was approved for that had ALL the amenities that I was looking for and they showed me the actual unit I would be living in but bc I was lied to I chose this apartment and my heart broke the day I saw the unit bc it was nothing like I was told it would be.       We have constant issues with bugs. Our deadbolt locked us in the apartment, the maintenance guy came and gave us a temporary fix, then closed the ticket. The mail room is open to the public where anyone can walk in and steal packages. Around 70-90% of my packages that get sent to the mail room get stolen unless I scramble the moment I get the notification that they're delivered. If you can afford any other place, do not move here.

      Been here since 2015. It's been good so far. Unfortunately there are more issues the past year . The trash is a major issue from peole piling bags high by their doors for service to trash strewn all along the landscape, small trash bins never emptied, dog waste stations neglected from no bags to trash barrels never emptied regularly. Illegal dumping and people just tossing stuff in the woods line and parking lot. Safety seems to have gotten better...does need some work. Loud neighbors and speeding in parking lots remains a problem. Another issue is the amenities....we've lost so many and the gym has been closed since 2019, anytime it's been opened it gets vandalized. ... it's been a good place to live and settle for almost 10 years. Hoping things can get better.

      There is garbage everywhere, all the time. Either it's left by residents or maintenance workers that do not clean up (have water heaters, old AC units, and pieces of wood etc...that are left outside buildings for days if not weeks). The lower complex occasionally wreaks of sewage. There is an eternal muddy wet spot in front of building H (maybe a leak or septic issue?). We don't have access to promised amenities like a wellness center or the lower rec area building. The pool is often closed, but we wouldn't use it anywhere due to cleanliness. The mail area is constantly trashed. The buildings are dirty and have not been cleaned since they were painted white. Dirty and broken screens visible from the parking lot that have not been fixed. There are plants growing out of the gutters on the roof. Broken glass and pieces of metal everywhere. I have been cut twice just walking my dog. The dog park fence was never repaired, so no wonder people do not let their dogs run in there. Avana also never refunded Jeff for years of over paying electricity bills due to a constantly breaking AC unit (he was told he would be refunded). The office is impossible to get a hold of. Either they do not answer the phone, it is routed to some call center, or the door is locked. You are lucky to get in there with some one who will give you the time of day. While the rent isn't bad for the area, considering what you get....We are counting down the days until we can leave.

      Worst apartments I’ve ever lived in, from bug infestation the moment we moved in to broken A/C, fridge not working, electrical issues, toilets and faucets that constantly run, horrible location and homeless problem. NONE of the amenities make this apartment worth the price! Only one pool is open, the gym is closed with no sign of opening soon, the parks have homeless ppl sleeping in them, overall terrible community and the staff doesn’t care.

      Overall, my experience has been okay. I LOVE Destiny! Any questions I have, she’s happy to answer and resolve any issues. The only problem is it seems there’s only one maintenance man for the entire complex so my issues are still waiting to be resolved. There’s a major bug and trash problem in the community. The dumpsters are sometimes overflowing with trash. People leave their trash out all weekend, KNOWING there is no trash pick up on Fridays and Saturdays; which is probably contributing to the bug issues. My issues with the community are really with the tenants. The staff at avana have been great! I just wish I was able to use the gym with me paying for all amenities, I would like to have access to all of them.

      It seems you get what you pay for at this community. It was $200/month cheaper than my previous apartment but is also lacking in service. My original unit was not ready but I was not told until the day before my move. The office staff put me in a different unit that was “ready” but upon move in it clearly wasn’t ready. Multiple appliances were inoperable which led to about $200 in groceries going bad and I can’t do laundry, and the wood on the patio clearly should have been replaced or at least cleaned properly and repainted. Overall the experience so far has not been good and I haven’t been here a full week yet. I sincerely hope the community turns out to be better than its first impression.

      manager always says he will call me back.. never does. says he will visit the property, never does. guy is absolutely incompetent and we need someone that actually cares. cockroaches uneven floors unruly neighbors break-ins car windows smashed gun shots people steal your packages we are paying for a package pick up station and it hasnt been open for months now apartments have poor circulation mold everywhere making it hard to maintain despite how much we clean our apartment uneven floors make you feel like you have vertigo I truly believe that these apartments need to be shut down and actually be renovated. This is what we thought happened when we rented our apartment when it was described as "newly renovated" but all they did was throw on some cheap paint and rip out some carpet. Straight up, you have a bunch of HACKS. I can not even begin to tell you how disappointed I am by these apartments and honestly, greystar should be ashamed to have this as one of their properties.

      I have placed mini maintenance request to have my issues taken care of only for them to go undone. I moved in April 28 and I contacted the apartment complex on 26 April to find out if my unit was ready and I was told that it was not. I officially moved in May 5 because the apartment wasn’t cleaned appliances didn’t work screen doors weren’t installed on the balcony window screens were ripped out of bedroom windows. Alarm code doesn’t work, balcony looks as if it is still under construction with peeling paint holes in the wood paneling there’s no microwave dryer doesn’t heat up nor will the door remain close. Please share as I have been waiting for the leasing office and the maintenance to come and take care of this. This unit shouldn’t have been placed on the market until it was inspected, and everything was taken care of, and painted measurement not to have these things taken care of before I moved in.

      0/10 looks nice on the outside. Roaches everywhere. High risk of crime like theft(happened to me 2nd day) no help on management side of weeks. Too expensive to be dealing with this bs. And the walls are thin I hear my upstairs neighbor every step sound like a crash.

      I don't like the apartment anymore. No upgrades. Beautify the apartments on the outside but not on the inside.

      Avana Collins Creek is the worst community I have ever rented with. Greystar Management is a corporation that is solely focused on profits and sees Nashville as an it city. They do not care about the comfort of their residents. This property is not maintained, is in a general state of disrepair, and will only be covered up with a fresh coat of paint so you can't really see. Run from Greystar Management in Nashville.

      My experience here has been lees than perfect very poor. Not happy at all and ready to break the lease. Sad thing is I’ve had to with hold rent since moving in due to all the maintenance issues that still has not been addressed. We have been over charged and over looked. Unacceptable.

      It's convenient to the 24 and my neighbors are generally pretty nice. Could stand to improve in certain aspects but overall I enjoy coming home here after work.

      The apartments are pretty decent, but with all of the headaches from poor management, to lazy maintenance team.. it’s hard to recommend Avana Collins creek to anyone really.
