Residents of Outer Chapel Hill live in a forested residential area with tree-lined streets, spacious properties and Southern-style homes. Autumn Woods has been very unprofessional since we first tried to move in. We were lied to about when we could get keys to the apartment and have been battling most of the maintenance team just to get basic things fixed like A/C, Ice maker, mold growth, really bad pouring ceiling leaks. A lot of our stuff got damaged by mold and we were told it was just window condensation and North Carolina’s humidity. It’s not humid then outside at times inside and nothing we do lowers it.

I’ve been living at Autumn Woods since 2016, and although IT’s changed ownership quite a few times this present owner should invest in fixing the sprinkler system, adding to the dog park, and other amenities. Greystar is amazing, but the owner needs to step up, especially because we pay so much to live here.

Autumn Woods is a lovely community, with a very gracious and helpful staff. The apartments are spacious and feel more like a home, than an apartment. The large outdoor patio's are a great feature. The property is kept very well and feels like you live in the country with all the trees. I enjoy living here very much.

Honestly this is the worst quality apartment complex I’ve ever lived in. I knew it wasn’t going to be great but I have been so disappointed in the condition of the apartment itself. Could just be my unit since I toured other units that weren’t as bad and the community is fine. The leasing office and maintenance team are great but the units themselves are so disappointing. Quiet neighborhood with a super friendly staff. Amenities are pretty nice. The staff are super responsive and helpful. They answered all our questions and made moving in easy. So far so good!

I love the vibe of the community. It’s clean and everyone so friendly here especially the groundskeepers. The guys who come out at night to remove our trash are pretty cool too. They don’t always come around the time they are supposed to but they come so no complaints here!!

I have been living here for 7 years now. For all this time, I generally had good neighbors. The leasing office and repair personnel have been very helpful. There are plenty of bus lines running near the complex. In the summer, the swimming pool is very nice to visit. Sometimes, we have visitors in the woods at the back of the complex and they can be noisy, but not a huge problem.

Great leasing office and repair staff. Great public transport options. The apartments are in relatively good condition compared to the others in the area. Good amenities, especially the pool. Parking is getting a little scarce, but still can find spots available.

The neighborhood is great, the apartment itself is lovely. Maintenance is not as swift as preferred but no major issues so far. I wish the package system were better but that is likely the mail man's fault. So far, it is a nice place to live and in a good location for some peace and quiet.

Nice community where there is not much loud noise or partying. Maintenence is fantastic and very responsive and clean up after a job is done.
Autumn woods is clean, well maintained, peaceful, and friendly. Neighbors are seldom loud and or boisterous( occasional student graduation celebrations, etc.). The community as a whole is relatively quiet, making it conducive to studying, resting, reading or sleeping, as you may like. Neighbors are very helpful and welcoming. If, for any reason, you have problems of too much noise from a neighbor(a situation that is hardly likely), contact the office, do NOT confront the neighbor. There has never been an issue of theft in this complex, or at least I have not heard of one in the six years that I have been here. I am not proposing that you leave your apartment or vehicle doors unlocked, but it is pretty safe here. Office staff and technicians are very friendly and courteous. Issues of maintenance are taken seriously and mostly taken care of within 24 to 48 hours. Of course there are times when technicians can be supper busy(ex. summer time, or a big emergency in one or more complex buildings, etc.). Even in such times, maintenance issues in which tenant security, comfort /convenience(water leaks, AC systems, bathroom clogs, etc.) is at stake, autumn woods will step up to take care of business. In general, technicians respond to maintenance emergencies(please contact the office for details of what constitutes an emergency or their definition of the word. The incinerator is doing its job and the valet trash system is very effective and working the way it should, in my opinion. There is no worry about stench coming from dumpsters or corridor apartment trach cans. Valet trash is picked up as stipulated in the rental office brochure. In fact, it is an uphill task to see even paper trash around on the floor of this complex- it is that clean. I love a clean place. I would not be here this long if this place is not well maintained, believe me. By the way, I have to mention that I am not getting paid or accorded any special favors, recognition, or powers to write this beautiful piece. This is purely what I see happening on a daily bases.

I have lived in this community for 5 years. Love the location. Convenient to quaint downtown Carrboro. Office and maintenance staff are friendly, always smiling, and very helpful. My favorite amenity is the carwash!!! Quiet neighborhood! Would highly recommend the community!

DO NOT care about tenants. Everything is just pushed under the rug, and very unprofessional. I have had problems from the day we moved in, and all they want to do is give excuses. I had to wait a week to unpack my boxes because the apartment was NOT move-in ready. They wanted me to delay bringing my things in and would not fit the uHaul bill to extend. Then, they failed to have a cleaning crew come in and clean up the messes made during the fixing process. Also, management made additional notes on my 3 pages of complaints upon move in, and refuses to relinquish copies of said report. I have notified if mold for months, and they will not test, because they are sure it is mildew and even so, will not replace the windows. Even though they have gaps to the outside, leak, and draft. Refusal to answer email concerns, refusal to pay for material for us to do ourselves, refusal to reduce rent. Have submitted maintenance requests time and time again, and they just close them out without saying a word. Health department is my next option.

Autumn woods apartment is a very nice and quiet complex in the Carrboro area. maintenance here responds swiftly and resolves any issues you may have in no more than 24 hours. Due to the issue I am experiencing now with roach sightings I would rate this complex a 8, apart from that issue, over all I enjoy living here.

If you like living in a community that has dirty breezeways up to your apartment with roaches constantly on the ground and live in an apartment that constantly smells like weed it's the place for you! Otherwise, don’t live here. Ever since moving here my apartment has smelled of cigarette smoke - this is a smoking community which is something the leasing office hides when touring, along with weed. Most apartments have not been renovated and therefore the ductwork connects the apartments so whatever is happening in the apartment next to you or below you, you will be able to smell. The leasing office has also not been helpful with this problem as this issue has been ongoing for several months at this point. I do not recommend this complex to anyone. Save your money on this overpriced complex and move somewhere better. Also, they make you pay for valet trash, but the trash service maybe picks up a couple days a week when it is scheduled for 5 days a week. Therefore, there is constantly trash in the hallways. I also called the leasing office about this issue and was told this is a 3rd party vendor, so they can't control when they pick up, yet the apartment complex is who charges for this mandatory service.

I have been living at Autumn Woods for six years. The best part of it has been the leasing office personnel. They are friendly and responsive. The repair personnel are also friendly and repairs are timely. The Valet Living door-to-door trash service has not been functioning well in the past six months and it costs about $40 . So, it is annoying. There are a few things to improve, but overall I feel good about AW.

Really spacious 2 bed/2 bath apartment with beautiful renovations. The maintenance team was quick to replace our washer and dryer when they broke, and leasing staff has been very kind and professional during our stay here.

I just moved in and the apartment is incredibly clean! There were some defects here and there, but maintenance was promptly deployed on the same day I sent in a request and fixed everything up for me. I have lived at Autumn Woods since 2016 and it’s been a good experience. Management, Lisa and LaShawn are amazing to interact and work with. Maintenance workers are exceptional and awesome! However, the owners of this property need to spend money on the water sprinkler system. When I first moved in this place looked like a golf course with lush grass, now, in the summer it looks like a scene from the Ads family, everything is dead! Step up owners, Lord knows we pay enough to live here, fix the system!

This is the worst place I have ever lived. They do not care about their residents. The front desk people are rude (except Lisa - she’s wonderful), maintenance doesn’t fix what is wrong they just put a bandaid on it, there is litter, the rent is high and I don’t see why when everything is breaking and they don’t do anything to fix it. I am paying for luxury living but don’t see where my money is going. This is not student housing, I expect more for what I am paying.
