West Ashley sits within the city of Charleston and is west of the Ashley River, hence its name, and is the birthplace of Hootie & the Blowfish’s frontman, Darius Rucker. Lined with mossy oaks, the Ashley and Stono Rivers border West Ashley, creating the breathtaking scenery for which Charleston is known. West Ashley residents enjoy close proximity to the area's only indoor mall, the Citadel Mall, and a large number of big-box stores.
Situated seven miles due west of Downtown Charleston, residents can plan on a 15- to 30-minute drive, depending on traffic, to take in all downtown has to offer. Nearby Interstate 526, which feeds directly into Charleston’s Interstate Highway 26, gives residents a fast and easy route in and out of area. Mid- to late-1900s ranch-style homes characterize the housing in outer West Ashley, but neighborhoods built in the 2000s also sprinkle the area.

I have been here for 4 years and still love it. The community is clean, well kept and the clubhouse is beautiful. They keep up to date with amenities and are always looking for ways and suggestions on adding new things. The staff are very friendly and helpful, it's always nice chatting with them. Max and Missy do an excellent job with maintenance and grounds keeping--they both do amazing work!

If you are looking for a comfortable, cozy, and pretty place to call home, Atlantic at Grand Oaks is it. This is a lovely, lovely community. From the amenities to the location, I love living here. Everything you need is within a 5-10 minute drive. It's quieter back here off the main roads which is nice. The pool and club house are beautiful. The staff is friendly and engaging

I love my time at Atlantic Oaks so far! Everyone is friendly and the area is very clean and quiet. The community events are nice too. The only issue is the lack of available parking near the unit you’re in.

The apartment itself (minus the roach infestation) is absolutely gorgeous. The amenities are beautiful, the property is beautiful, and it might be one of my favorite apartments I’ve lived in. The leasing office team is attentive but it is definitely noticeable that the maintenance team is short staffed. Despite having some pretty major issues, I do still love this apartment and, for the most part, I’m excited to call it home. The community atmosphere here seems delightful and overall quite positive.

Honestly wish I never moved here. The walls are so paper thin, anything touches them and they stain, you can tell by the way this apartment is that they just made them so quickly to get them all done as there are so many problems. The staff is sort of helpful but they don’t really care about their tenants and what they’re going through just whatever they have to do to keep money coming in. I’m so oget this and wish people would be more hospitable and understanding.

Overall great place to live. The apartments themselves are airy, open and allows for a lot of different lay out set ups since it's so spacious. The maintenance team is on their game and always helpful and so pleasant. Management is very professional and responsive to all questions/concerns in a timely manner. The area is perfect for bike riding or strolling through surrounding neighborhoods and the food store and Starbucks are only a 5 minute drive away! The community is great here- especially the events the Apt Life Team hosts 3x a month- kid and adult friendly activities! Overall I love it here- I have met some amazing friends. The ONLY negative thing I can say is the fireplaces have not worked in years due to an incident but they're still advertised on the webpage and I wasn't aware they were broken until after I moved in.

AGO is a phenomenal community with all of the luxuries youd expect and appreciate in low-country living. Beyond the amazing outdoor aesthetics, the units are spacious, modern and functional. The provided features and amenities such as, valet trash, package lockers, sparkling pool, gas grills, granite countertops, beautiful light fixtures, amazing views, community events/initiatives all work together to create an experience that makes you love being home!

The apartment advertises amenities that do not work and have not worked since I have been living here. I have lived here for 8 months now. The amenities they do have somewhat operable are poorly managed. The dog park is a mud puddle. The gym always has something broken. The grills barely work. The car port doesn’t even have a sprayer on the hose. Administrative staff is rude and doesn’t take anything seriously nor do they even show a genuine concern about any of your concerns. I have had things stolen from my balcony and have had my car broken into here. I am not the only resident that has had this happen before either.
