Wedged between the Cape Fear River and Carolina Beach Road, Echo Farms is a beautiful neighborhood about five miles south of Downtown Wilmington. Echo Farms Golf & Country Club winds through the center of the neighborhood, making this the ideal neighborhood for golfing enthusiasts, and nearby Halyburton Park provides more natural beauty with a nature preserve, picnic areas, a walking/bicycling trail, and a playground. Echo Farms is also five miles southwest of the University of North Carolina-Wilmington and 12 miles away from Cape Fear Community College. For those who enjoy boating, Watermark Marina is just outside the neighborhood.
Ideally located, apartments in Echo Farms provide easy access to the entire Wilmington area. Go shopping at nearby Independence Mall, or head 10 miles northeast to Wrightsville Beach to enjoy beachcombing, swimming, and surfing. Masonboro Island, accessible only by boat, is roughly four miles away.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Manager at Antiqua Apartments, Responded To This Review
Hi, we're so glad that we were able to go above and beyond your expectations! Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you; we are more than happy to help!
Giving it a 2 for the hard work of the maintenance team on site. They are respectful, knowledgeable and prompt.. However, the management at the site is ridiculous especially when it comes to the new property manager. Ever since the old one left, anigua has been falling apart. She honestly needs to be replaced. Would give a 0 star for simply the joke of management at this residency.
1. Roaches everywhere no matter what you do. No amount of cleaning, spraying, or killing will get rid of them. They’re in the showers, the dishwasher, the microwave, the bedrooms, cabinets. Everywhere. 2. Staff are absolutely HORRIBLE - with the exception of the maintenance men, who are amazing. The women in the leasing office are lazy, lazy, lazy. One of them just left and a new man came in to be manager... hopefully he’s better but who knows. I’ve never lived in such a poorly managed place. 3. Everything constantly breaks in the apartment. Fridge, showers, vents, you name it. 4. They say they’re a dog friendly neighborhood, but unless your dog behaves more like a hamster would, DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE. Your poor dog deserves better. 5. Cigarette butts EVERYWHERE. Sidewalks, dog park, grassy areas, even the SWIMMING POOL. 6. Lots of strange people around at night. Doesn’t feel safe, for women especially. This is ONLY in Antiqua — the surrounding areas/neighborhoods are fine. It’s just Antiqua that sucks. 7. They have washers/dryers, but they’re constantly breaking and when they’re not, they’re FILTHY. Plus you have to may $3+ for ONE LOAD because they hardly work even when they are up and running. 8. The trash compactor... is revolting. It’s constantly disgusting. I hate having to walk in there and dodge insects because they’re so attracted to ALL THE TRASH THATS ON THE GROUND. Seriously, it’s disgusting. 9. They won’t mention this when you sign, but there are alligators on the property. I found out by walking my pup along the pond and a neighbor ran out and told me to move away or else the gators would get them. I laughed thinking it was a joke, but the next day I saw them. They have ONE VERY SMALL sign to warn tenants. It’s not really an issue that the gators are there, but why wouldn’t the staff tell it’s tenants that before they signed? 10. Overall, this place is dirty, loud, unprofessionally managed, and disappointing. If I were you, I’d reconsider.
This complex is poorly maintained and run down. The apartments are infested with roaches and no matter how clean you are, you cannot get rid of them. They spray each apartment individually and they just run to the next apartment and come right back. maintenance staff has to out to fix something every single month. This complex is old and it definitely shows. There is lot of noise so this is not the place for you if you like peace and quiet. The only pro is the manager is super nice. Its not really her fault that this apartment complex is a complete dump.
Staff is great and any maintenance requests are always responded to within 24 hours. Very quite area with no tenant issues and no loud parties or disturbances. The only complaint I have is that they are cheaply made apartments with very thin walls and no storage inside or outside.
The best apartment complex in Wilmington. This community has a pool, washer and dryer, a new grilling station and lounge. The complex is 10 minutes away from downtown Wilmington, close to the mall and grocery stores. The pond is a community favorite . My son and I spend many of nights sitting on our blanket, listening to the frogs, and feeding the fish. This is truly a great community not only the neighbors but staff as well.
