DeLand is also home to the Hatters, the colloquial term for students at Stetson University, a prominent private university dating back to the 1800s. The area is rich in culture with common performances in the historic Athens Theater and multiple museums recounting the neighborhood's rich history.

Property Ratings at Amelia Place Apartments
I moved in back in september 2019 when new managers arrived. the managers now are wonderful....super friendly and exceedingly helpful. The whole area is well lit at night with nice sidewalks and it’s very pet friendly. I have not met a neighbor i didn’t like. Everyone has been so friendly! :) there’s plenty of parking for all. There’s a wooded area that acts as a buffer for privacy from nearby businesses and international speedway with everything you need (food stores, restaurants, great stores, downtown deland, and the beach) are just a quick easy drive away. The apartments are beautiful and everyone has a patio and a garden space to plant what they like, they can decorate their own little outdoor space. I’m very happy to be here.
Used to be a great place to live. I lived there for 4 years and the landlords from year 1 to year 3 were great. The new landlords that took over in year 4 are terrible. Rusty gets off on threatening to throw people out. I even got a second car, and she didn’t believe that it was working/registered to me. Because in her words you don’t just have a second car and not drive it. So she demanded that I show proof of ownership. Even though I had offered to show her the multiple times she called me about it. But she said it was fine each time, then out of the blue she posts a notice on my door demanding my registration. I was over it, so I had to call her boss. Central management will be lucky if they do not get sued for harassment and invasion of privacy because of her. Also the rules don’t apply to her or the people she likes. Per the lease you have to have your dog on a leash at all times. Well, Rusty can be seen walking around with her little dog free and off leash all the time. You are also not allowed to have recreational vehicles in the parking lot, however Rusty and her Husband have a camper parked in the parking lot at all times. You are also not allowed to work on your car in the parking lot, however she allows people to work on their cars all the time. But god help you if she doesn’t like you, working on your car is a violation of the lease and is “grounds for termination”. Just so many double standards and being above the rules.
Nice, supposedly quiet, airplanes fly over to Deland Airport, mostly retirees, mostly old males with pets, some black mold issues
