We have been here for less than a year. No problems with our neighbors. Management help when available but need to keep more updates on property rules or any changes. That will include parking not everyone checks their email on a daily basis. The only negative about this area is homelessness. Property and packages getting stolen almost on a daily basis.

Great staff and nice facilities. Yet constant dog fecies on the lawns and sidewalks. We won't take our dog to the enclosed dog park due to bad smell and unkept dog owners.

I moved over from the center of Escondido and I have to say I feel so much safer on this side. Yes things can still happen but I don't see homeless or people on drugs and that kind of activity over here. The apartments are very well kept, the staff try and help as much as they can, the amenities are better inside your home like Full size washer/dryer. ACs, new appliances. The outside has a dog park,pools and spas along with a nice fireplace. Glad to be here.

I live here currently, we work full time and different shifts. The apartments are taken care of, courts countertops new appliances, vaulted ceilings and carpet that wasn't installed in 1990 . I have yet to meet a staff member who has been rude to unhelpful. Even the vendors that that are on site are nice and will chat with you. ( I've learned a lot about the complex from talking to them) Our pools have Chemautomation which I am surprised but stoked for. Even one of the guys I have talked to at night from the parking company is nice. I like that we can pay online with he app and I like getting rewards from it, I feel like people use the app more to bash people then to do anything good, the amount of complaints at 11pm about people appearing sketchy but no one wants to calls security or the police, its comical how many times I have walked outside to investigate(as its typically in the time frame im coming home from work) and most have not even been homeless but people just living their life that live here. I make sure to have good relationship with my neighbors, try with staff you know just be a good person but if you go looking to be miserable you can. I haven't been here two full years but almost but the prices here are comparable for what things are going for in San Diego county and what you get from it is worth it. We have Washer/dryer in unit and I don't think how lucky we are as I was paying 150 less before but I think its way worth the upgrade and the upkeep of these apartments.

Living here at Altair has been a dream! The apartments are clean and spacious. Having a full-size washer and dryer and a sliding mirror closet is very convenient! The move in process was smoother than I could have asked for—shout out to Catalina for her cheerfulness and professionalism! She was so helpful with the whole move-in process and answered all my calls and questions promptly. The grounds are well-kept and I enjoy my daily morning walk with sights such as succulents, palm trees, a clean swimming pool, and hummingbirds! Work orders are taken care of promptly by the friendliest man. I live alone but feel safe and comfortable living here.

I love my home at Altair. It is a pet friendly place. I am more than happy with the Altair staff and maintenance. They are helpful and kind folks that make living at Altair a real joy. The lovely landscaping makes walking my fur-baby delightful. There are so many interesting plants and trees to look at during my dog walking times. My beautiful apartment is definitely at step above other apartment complexes in the area. One walk through the sample apartment with all the high-end amenities, large appliances, and the open-space layout will convince you that Altair would be the perfect place to settle-in and make your new home a new beginning to a new and wonderful life experience. I, also, truly enjoy being within a short walk of great restaurants, National grocery chains, a pharmacy, many department stores and a huge hardware store! No need to ever use a car. Doesn't/couldn't ever get better than this beautiful life here with pools; jacuzzis; manicured lawns, a large grassed, fenced area for dogs; and the lovely, special area for children that has equipment especially for them.

The only thing that's a little frustrating is the dog pee and poop everywhere. I wish I could let my toddler walk in the grass and on the sidewalks but it's gross.

I was excessively charged upon move out even after completely cleaning the apartment and leaving it in a better condition than when I moved into. I still have not received a fair explanation to why this was. The charges are even inconsistent with the lease. The apartment wasn't cleaned prior to my move in, and I was charged for leaving it dirty when this is false and no proof was provided that would warrant hundreds of dollars in repairs caused by my living there.

I have lived here for over 3 years, and this is by far the best apartment complex I have lived in in North county! The apartments are nicely renovated, and relatively quiet. I have had no issues with noise at night, which was a concern when we moved in because of previous experience. It is super dog friendly here, and poop bags are provided by management which is super convenient. Our rent stayed the same for the first three years, and went up just slightly this year. The management is next level. Eric and Brenda are the most pleasant property management staff I have ever dealt with, and they go above and beyond to make this complex a good place to live. The maintenance man is very friendly and all maintenance requests are attended to very quickly! Parking is not an issue in this complex, you have to buy parking passes at a reasonable price. We have our covered spot and one floating unassigned spot that is first come first serve, but there is plenty of open spots. The amenities are very nice and always clean. There are a lot of families with children that live here so it can be lively during the day, but not noisy.

The only thing I do not, like about Altair is the trash everywhere on the common areas. I walk my dog everyday several times a day & have seen the same trash for over a year. I am baffled as to why the ladies who work here never pick it up. I see them with the trash can daily, but that never seem to pick up the stuff I see everyday. Maybe we can do community clean up.

Leasing Office is on top of things and very good communicators. The management team is understanding of all residents concerns.
Overall it's a very nice place to live. Our issues are with the apartment itself, because it's old and needs some work, and we have a jerk neighbor who just moved in. BUT I do enjoy living here and I know the remodeled apartments are really nice. The amenities are also nice and I feel overall it's a safe and comfortable place to live. If we were offered the opportunity to move into one of the remodeled units again we would be very interested!

It is not a “gated community” as it was listed. The gates are either broken or always one is open allowing anyone to just enter the property. Parking is ridiculous. You have to pay for a parking sticker and 95% of the time you don't even get a parking spot, and the office does not do anything about making residents park one of their vehicles in their actual assigned spot. There are plenty of covered parking spots open to park in all hours, due to everyone leaving their assigned spot open for their guests even though guests should be parking outside the premises.
The complex looks great, nice amenities, landscaping. The infrastructure is old resulting in plumbing, mold and electrical issues.
The water in my building gets shut off without warning all the time. I've come home to many notices of my water being shut off for maintenance and to fill my tub so I can flush my toilet. But more often than not, it's shut off without warning. The day after my father died and all I wanted to do was shower, and hope for a second of feeling like a person again, my water was shut off for 6 hours with no notice, and calls in the office weren't answered. That was March. My water is shut off with no notice at the moment as well (all is paid). The 3 years I've been here, the complex has been under constant construction. Dog waste bags are not restocked frequently enough, but even when they are, a lot of dog droppings are left behind. For long periods of time. Also, dead rodents on the sides of the sidewalk that seem to go unnoticed for 3+ weeks.
Extremely well maintained and upgraded. I love the gated complex and the apartments (even second floor) don't get super hot in the summer time!
Eric is ok guy to work with but the two new front office personnel are not as inviting. Definitely don't meet the Standards or Jen and Danika before they left the complex
It is a nice complex but if you live near the gym and pool it can get loud...even past 10pm at night when trying to sleep that is annoying. While the weather is turning nicer, its nice to have the windows open, and tenants who live next to the gym have to listen to people play music loud, drop weights and overall be very loud. If the windows and door to the gym would stay closed all the time then its nice and quiet.

Most residents and I agree that we overpay. There are many little things that create poor experience living here. I didn't even get a gate remote key when I moved in and the key for main gate/swimming pool doesn't work. The community bill is rather high. Some security guards are not even armed with taser nor stun gun. There are a few hours each day without security and management doesn't notify residents. Parking is crappy and it's assigned so making it difficult for overnight guests to park. Maintenance request take a while to be executed and one must remind management.

Great community i would recommend to others. Thinking of moving up there but need to plan my financials should be ready to make the decision by this Friday.
I like it, but it is expensive for someone paying full price
The cost is too high for the square footage. Apartment too small. We moved to a 2 bed 2 bath with comparable amenities for the same price as the one bedroom apartment. Also was very disappointed with the move out process. I emailed the office multiple times with no response so we were not given the correct move out information. Responsiveness was always spotty throughout the year. Also no idea why the dog bag dispenser was not replaced near the play yard. Tons of dog crap after that.
