I’m really shocked about these reviews. I’ve lived here going on three years and have never had any sort of roach or bug for that matter. Anytime I’ve had an issue the office always has helped with swiftness. Maintenance will be out within 24 hours to fix what needs to be fixed. It’s affordable for the size of the units and location.

Don’t rent here unless you love cockroaches

I lived here for over 3 years and I would never rent here again and never recommend to anyone that they rent here as an well. There is a huge cockroach problem and they will only do things if you complain about it, they won’t tell you about it, they won’t do anything proactive. Parking is horrible. You only get 1 space and it’s no where near your apartment leaving you with a nice walk. And they will lie and harass you about back in parking. Area is unsafe, multiple shootings at the complex while I lived there, police are always there. An apartment lit on fire and killed a mother and her child, they did nothing to assure us we are safe. Everyone in the leasing office is rude and condescending. They also scammed us out of $500 when we left. Do not let the renovations fool you they are not good quality, floors are super cheap, carpet sucks, closet doors are made out of cardboard pretty much. Cheap door trim. No one picks up after their dogs, and trash is constantly overflowing. Place is gross. DO NOT RENT HERE THERE ARE PLENTY OF BETTER PLACES NEARBY!!!

Do not move here!

This place is the absolute biggest dump! You will regret moving here. Management sucks and the prices for the neighborhood and what you get are not even worth it.! I recently moved out of here and can’t tell you how free I feel!

Stay Away!!! Shady

STAY AWAY!!! This place is horrible. Managment is very shady. They tried to charge me hundreds of dollars in "damages" when they lost my initial move-in sheet that had some of the damages already on it. Of course they lost this sheet and then blamed me for it. The lady then threatened me that if I didn't pay it she would increase the damage amount. Apparently she wasnt charging me the full damage amount out of the goodness of her own heart right? Shady. Stay away from these people. Very sad how some people act in the world. We submitted a complaint with the better business bureau because these people are unjust.

Currently live here ??

For the amount of money I pay for a 1 bedroom, it’s not worth it. I could pay $200 more a month somewhere else & not have the headache. The gate is always broken on Central & the pool has been “closed” for cleaning for over 2 months? There are No spas even though it’s advertised on the ad, they are nonfunctional (no jets, nothing), just warm bath water. And the gym has old equipment. Management isn’t the best, but the the worst either. Bottom line is for the money, it’s best you look somewhere else.

Love the Staff

Not sure why ANYONE is complaining about the staff here, they are WONDERFUL people. They have been extremely flexible with us multiple times for numerous things, have come to do repairs quickly, are always super friendly and go above and beyond for you; they also try to make everything fun and inclusive for the community by hosting cool events and including EVERYONE. The apartment layout is awesome and spacious. the only real challenges are sometimes parking for a guest that may be coming over, and there were a few pest issues, but they were QUICKLY resolved and not the apartments fault. our neighbors were not the cleanest people and some of that migrated over. It was dealt with in a timely manner and very professionally. I think if you are a NICE person and respectful to the staff, then that same courtesy will be returned to you. I have witnessed other residents being rude, and screaming at them, which would explain why some people don't get the resolution you want sometimes. shame on any of you that complained about the staff.

MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE

Do not live here! If something breaks they will blame it on you and charge you for it. Our microwave door shattered to pieces and they called us negligent, even though we were just opening and closing the microwave door (normal use), and they charged us $150 for JUST THE DOOR, NOT EVEN A NEW MICROWAVE. We've been here over a year and they just replaced our 16 year old dishwasher. Even though we complained about it the month that we moved in. I know it's 16 years old because I emailed General Electric. They locked all all of the pools except for one on Memorial Day, and said that no one was here to unlock the pools, which doesn't make sense because they unlocked ONE pool. My neighbors and myself came to the conclusion it was because they didn't want to have to clean up all of the pools. My autistic two-year-old locked me out on my patio (that i was cleaning because of the NUMEROUS emails sent by management threatning fines for anything on the patio that isnt patio furniture) and I couldn't get back in, I called and called their answering service and when someone finally spoke to me they placed me on hold for 15 minutes, then got back on and said that no one answered and that they had left a voicemail and then they just hung up on me! It took 45 minutes for someone to come to my apartment and unlock the door with my two year old and nine month old inside alone. If it wasn't for my neighbor having the maintenance guys personal phone number, who knows how long I would have been locked out. And when I brought this up to management they told me that it wasn't their issue and that I should have called a locksmith. And then the manager blamed the third party answering service. If someone would have actually answered me the first time and told me to call a locksmith maybe that's what I would have done. Instead I spent 20 minutes just trying to get ahold of somebody and then was placed on hold for 5 minutes and then was hung up on. This place is absolute garbage and every single person that lives here complains about management and maintenance. It's way overpriced for these extremely old apartments. They say that everything is new and that they have a new pet Park, it's a total lie. That pet Park has been here way too long to be considered new, and none of my appliances when I moved in a year ago were new. Same with my sister who moved in to the back of the apartment complex 6 months ago. her apartment was filthy when she moved in.

Terrible

First of all this place is overpriced. From there its literally a list of things wrong that is longer than my grocery list... bad insulation, noisy, windows that are so thin you could break them by simply flicking them. Dirty upon arrival, dirty around the complex, A/C problems constantly... random things broken throughout the apartment, leaky faucets, old appliances... etc.

Don't stay here

The office gives your personal information away to other people living in the complex and than refuses to take responsibility for their actions when confronted about it and asking to be transferred to another unit without pay. Manager Maria does not care about what happens in the office nor the safety of it's residents.

This place is disgusting. Bug problem, terrible customer service with front office, they call it a gated community and the gates always broken, my vehicles been broken into, neighbors are loud, units are gross... Whoever is writing the good reviews is obviously not a resident here

Never again

They made up damages to keep part of my deposit. I have always received my deposits back everywhere I have lived, until here. It was thoroughly cleaned on our move out, yet we were charged still. They claimed floor damage when I know for a fact there was none. The apartment was dirty when I moved in and had to clean it before unpacking. The complex is noisy and neighbors were loud. Adults arguing in the parking lot. I would not recommend this place.

Could Be Comfortable Without the Bed Bugs

The apartments here are nice and comfortable. Tons of closet space, decent kitchen and living room size, and a bedroom big enough to fit a queen. It's really nice as a first time renter. Except for the bed bugs. For almost three months now, it's been a back and forth battle with management to take care of them and they think doing the SAME thing over and over will fix it. My husband and I have had to live out of bags and boxes for the past couple months because of their prep requirements for pest control. Clothes, fabrics, pillows, etc. have to be in bags and washed and dried and remain, floors have to be vacant and furniture moved throughout. So almost everything we own is outside on our balcony. Somebody could steal our belongings! We live on the second floor but my husband proved that anyone could climb up it after he did it (and he's not athletic) Also the panic caused when it rains. They promised they would do something different the second time but lo and behold, I discover they're doing the same thing that didn't work. Even after I told them that they better do something different. Not to mention that for 3 days, no one returned either of our calls about the matter until I contacted Weidner and got them involved. I've had to contact them again because we were told by pest control that they would come and do the SAME process again for a THIRD time if we saw signs again. AGAIN? What part of "its not working" don't they understand?? Do they know how difficult it is to live like this?? My husband is severely allergic to them and I am not. We sleep in the same bed and he'll wake up with bites and I'm completely fine.I wish I could post the picture of my husband with a large red and purple welt on his side where a cluster of bites melted into one. It looks like someone took a baseball bat to him. I have no doubt they were in the apartment way before I moved in. Don't they know they can carry diseases? Only reason why I found one was because I saw it next to me on the bed my second week living there. (this was back in October) Its now almost February and nothing has changed. To say that all of the apartments are like this is unfair but after experiencing their lack of care for our apartment and well being, I wouldn't doubt it if there were bed bugs in the apartments around me. It really is a nice place, I can't take anything away from that but the management is deplorable.

It's clean outlets don't work all the time and the washer and dryer should be replaced there is this odor coming from the storage/laundry room and now I have crickets in my walls

Bang For Your Buck

I relocated to Phoenix from Atlanta. I stayed with my sister before finding this place. I was told that North Phoenix was a great area and I agree. You have everything right there from neighborhood pharmacies, grocery stores, gyms, and shopping. The price is fairly decent giving all other apartments near. It has washer and dryer in unit, new black appliances, and new countertops. The only thing that I did not find to satisfactory is the pest problem and the shower leaks, but other than that it's a pretty cool apartment for the single person just looking to get a place.

I had such high hopes...

I have lived in North Phoenix my entire life and when I saw the renovations happening at my current place of living I thought it was too good to be true. The apartments themselves are beautiful on the inside, but the with all the renovations done it surprised me that they would skimp on the details. There are no garbage disposals in some of the units so it's a 50/50 chance and the office has no idea which units have them and which don't. Some units have new washer and dryers others have ones that look like they came straight from the 80's. A friend of mine has hers inside her unit and she says it is the noisiest machine she has ever heard. She can't run it when her 3 year old son is home or if she has guest because it sounds like she is washing wrenches. Also every thermostat is different! Some are as old as the 80's washing machines and others are new and programmable, but can reset themselves and turn on and off at random. My AC unit went out 5 times in a matter of 2 months and I waited forever for it to be properly fixed. I also have had no one fix my fire detectors and I have put in multiple work orders. Lastly if you are looking for a pet friendly establishment this is not the place for you. The "dog run" is nothing but a giant sandbox with a broken fence. The grassy area around it is beautiful but the dogs must be on leashes in order to be out there. I don't know about you, but the hot summer sun bakes the sand in the dog enclosure and my dogs paws got burnt so badly the last time she was in there. I was enraged! Yet nothing has been done. I almost forgot. The treadmills in the "gym" randomly stop while you're on them and no one seems to ever clean the room. The pools are the things of nightmares and anyone who lives here usually goes to Vaseo to swim. Also while living here my apartment was egged and broken into and the office just shrugged and said that sucked... I have multiple friends in this community that have told me they will not be renewing their leases and I know I have no desire to as well.

Convenience is excellent

I appreciate the courtesy and convenience of the way this community is employed. I appreciate the convenience of having a courtesy patrol. I appreciate the convenience of being able to send for a tow truck when dis-courteous and malicious-minded individuals ignore the privacy of others by parking in their space. I appreciate that there are many convenient locations for families to participate in activities. I appreciate the location which is less than a mile from an elementary school and a local church. I would only encourage that the community continues to grow in spite of any negativity at all from any other malicious - minded individuals.

Nice

The apartments are newly remodeled. And pretty spacious. The community needs a little work with the littering and noise but maintenance cleans up every morning and responds to complaints. It's not too pricey and the amenities are great.

HORRIBLE PLACE, GO NEXT DOOR TO PARK ON BELL!!!!!!!

If I could give 0 I would. Horrible experience from the start. They brag about how the place is secured... except if you have one of the MANY apartments whose patio door leads out to the street! They also told us how they just recently redid the parking to make it closer for residents... Which is funny, since our parking spot is 2 and half buildings from where our apartment is. They gave it a decent attempt to put some upgrades in that make it look at little more modern. Now if only they would have hired someone with at least a tiiiiiiny bit of experience in construction. There is caulk all over, paint droplets they spilled everywhere, and the flooring looks like a 5 year old laid it. The move in experience was no better. We moved all our stuff in the apartment and got our beds put together as it was getting dark, so we started getting the kids ready for bed. Their feet were BLACK on the bottom. The place was NOT cleaned prior to us moving in. Maybe came by with a rag and dusted, but that was about it. I went through 3 buckets of water JUST TO CLEAN THE LIVING ROOM. It was utterly disgusting. The bad caulk in the master show was coming off, the drain loose and you couldn't even turn the shower on because the nob was broken. The dishwasher was dirty. Standing water in the bottom of it, the filter was completely shot (it was so filled with gunk you couldn't see through the mesh anymore) oh, and there was A CIGARETTE BUTT IN IT!!!! Now for the maintenance - I put in 3 requests alone for the dishwasher. First they came and gave me a slightly LESS used filter, even though I told them it needed to be taken apart thoroughly and cleaned out. Next they came back and put a bottle of cleaner in it and ran it, even thought I told the maintenance guy the same thing. FINALLY they came back and adjusted the drain so there isn't (as much) water in the bottom of it. It still needs to be cleaned out (by removing the bolts on the bottom of it) but I am tired of trying to get them to come out. I put in a maintenance request for them to fix the shower, and of course, they forgot to fix the drain so I had to submit yet ANOTHER maintenance request. The next two I submitted were because the strike plate was put on backwards ( so if someone kicked in the door it wouldn't even hit the strike plate) and the last one was because the patio door wasn't keyed to our key.

Accolade comfortable but not luxe

Comfortable living with recent remodel. Love the space and closets in my one bedroom. Parking can be an issue. My assigned space is not near my building and unassigned spaces are always full. Management and maintenance are aweaome. All requests have always been addressed and resolved quickly.

Great Apartment, but overall nothing special

Overall my experience at Accolade has been just fine. Nothing to make them spectacular, but nothing to make me run for the hills. The interior of the apartment is great. The 2 bedroom 2 bath layout is open with a nice flow. The only issues that I have had are my neighbors below me like to blast music and the television so that my floor rumbles during an action sequence. I have contacted the office about a few times and nothing seems to be done about it. Also the hours of the office are strange as well... Other than that I would recommend you live here. I am leaving because I would like to find something closer to work.

Your new home

A warm, welcome, community with helpful staff. 4 pools means no overcrowding, and a well equipped gym means other means of exercise are readily available. Throw in a dog park and basketball courts, and what you get is a community well worth moving in to.

UPGRADE AMD CONVENIENT

Although this complex was built decades ago, the management has done a great job upgrading it. Granit counter tops are awesome, new cabinets and appliances! Some of the units have carpet and some have a nice wood vinyl. Rent is easily paid online and maintenance request are easily done online and addressed quickly. The only downside is the old Windows (not dual pain) and parking can be a bit messy depending on what part of the complex you are in.

The outside of these apartments are old and the units are old, but they do there best to keep up with the place. The inside of my apartment has updated amenities and I am pleased with it. I am also pleased with the staff they are quick to make you feel valued and the grant your requests.
