Mapleton Hill’s historic charm and silver maple tree-lined streets make this Boulder community a desired place to live. Most of the homes in the area are more than a century old – and because they were built atop a hill, residents wake up to sweeping views of the city every morning.
Much of Mapleton Hill today is considered a historic district, so there are not many shops or restaurants within the community – you have to go to Pearl Street for that! However, you’re close to the Mount Sanitas and Sanitas Valley trail heads, which make early-morning hikes possible.
When you venture on foot or bike to Pearl Street, you’ll find numerous coffee shops, bookstores, gourmet restaurants, and cool artisan stores. There are also a couple of breweries around Pearl Street like Mountain Sun, West Flanders, and Twisted Pine Brewing Company. This tight-knit and trendy community is just northwest of the University of Colorado Boulder.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
