Located in Bristol County, Taunton combines historical significance with contemporary living. The city earned its "Silver City" nickname from its silversmithing heritage and is celebrated as the "Christmas City" for its annual holiday illumination at Taunton Green. Home to approximately 60,000 residents, Taunton offers housing options from downtown apartments to suburban residences. The rental market reflects steady growth, with current average rents ranging from $1,244 for studios to $2,379 for three-bedroom units. The Weir Village and Whittenton areas feature converted mill buildings and traditional New England architecture.
Residents enjoy access to Massasoit State Park's hiking trails and natural landscapes, while the historic Taunton Green serves as the city's central gathering space. Downtown includes the Old Colony History Museum, which preserves the area's rich heritage. The Myles Standish Industrial Park, among New England's largest, contributes to the local economy.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at 840 County
The walls are fine but the floors are paper thin. If you can’t get a unit on the top floor just forget it. You’ll spend most of your time trying to drown out the sound of the people above you existing. Don’t even bother putting in a maintenance request. It’ll never be fulfilled even the smaller task and some urgent will just be ignored or in some cases they’ll respond to ask you to stop putting in requests for the thing they refuse to deal with. Water leaking in to a bed room? Mark is done but never deal with it. Thermostat telling you the filter needs to be replaced? Just say you did it already and refuse to even look at it. Want the screen replaced on your slider because there wasn’t one when you moved in? Say you’re missing a tool despite the fact the complex is literally across the street from a Home Depot. Promised a closet door because your unit is just missing one? That’ll never get resolved don’t try to mention it ever again it’ll be ignored. I can’t be sure what I’m even paying rent for.
Noisy Bad management Too close you can hear everything in apartments around when you complain they do nothing dirty they don’t clean hallways need new carpet stinks
