Horrible Management Company

When I first moved in, this was a nice building, not perfect, but nice. Great location in Center City. As the years went on, the management company (Stonehenge Advisors) let this place essentially fall apart. It took them months to fix basic things — my air conditioner leaked in to a bucket on the floor for over a year, the exterior wall of the building caved in to my apartment and was ignored for over a year (one day I walked in to my apartment and all of my stuff was moved to one side with no notification and the wall was torn down for repairs), the upstairs bathroom drained through the ceiling in to my bathroom for several weeks. I had to constantly follow up with management and was often ignored. Excuses such as “our maintenance people speak Russian so the message must have been misunderstood” was shared by the property manager. The management company’s daughter, who was the property manager at the time, told me that the building was essentially poor and they couldn’t afford to make improvements. The basement where the washer and dryer are located is filled with cockroaches and floods every time it rains. The laundry may be free but it’s in a disgusting location. Upon moving out, this management company deducted money from my security deposit for not cleaning the oven throughly — which I hardly used because it set off the fire alarm due to no ventilation in my apartment. This place is a slum. Avoid.
