Rockmart is situated near the Alabama border just 33 miles from Marietta, and another 13 miles to Atlanta. The town’s motto is an apt description of Rockmart’s character: “Where Past & Present Stroll Side by Side.” Rockmart was swiftly developed as a depot town when the Southern Railway built a station nearby, and today it’s a close-knit, active city with an unexpectedly vibrant arts and culture scene.
There are a few locally owned restaurants and shops that mingle with more familiar chains all around town, mainly along Nathan Dean Parkway. Take a walk along the Silver Comet Trailhead and see the creek that flows through town, or hang with the locals at Knucklehead Café. While most residents enjoy their apartment rental experience in a tight-knit town, it’s easy to drive into Marietta or Atlanta for a taste of the big city.
