Hello! We are looking for a wonderful third housemate to live with us in our beach apartment on the sand in Playa del Rey. Move in date is preferably May 1st. Please take the time to read through the ad and if you think you fit the bill, respond as per request at the bottom of this ad. Thanks and happy hunting! The Beach Pad: - The apartment is ON the the beach in Playa del Rey and is on the second floor of a two story duplex. It's really more of a beach bungalow than a typical LA apartment. - The bedroom is about 10 x 10 feet, and has one good sized closet. The room is big enough for a queen sized bed, dresser, bookshelf and desk. There is some additional storage in the hall/coat closets and the garage. - There is one bathroom which is shared between all housemates. - The apartment itself and kitchen are FULLY FURNISHED. There is space for bedroom items and small kitchen items only (no appliances). - Hardwood floors (or a good impersonation of hardwood) are in the common areas. Carpets are in all of the bedrooms. The kitchen/living room/dining area are open with lots of windows - Large beach facing patio with furniture and a gas grill - Clothes washer and dryer are in the unit - Off-street parking is included - We have an awesome beach cat named Sal. He has no litter box inside of the apartment but he will expect you to feed him because he knows that you can. About Us: - The current residents are two men. I am in my early 40s. He says he is 75, but who really knows. :) - I am a healthcare professional, am positive and happy, and my home is my sanctuary. I enjoy spending time with friends, family, and music. I live an active lifestyle and I like to cook, but also appreciate a good pretzel burger down the street at The Tripel. I love to watch and play most sports, although these days I find myself watching more than playing. I'm working on that. - As per the 75 (+/- 25 years) year old roommate: Hello. I'm 73, not 75, but people say I look 30! I feel the same. I'm very physically active, and I need to be able to rest and recharge at home. We get along well because we are very considerate of each other. We need the third to be the same. I'm a writer who works in and out of the house. I'm not loud, and we don't have a ton of parties. Our Ideal Candidate: - We are looking for a non-smoking, drug free, pet free housemate. - Be an amazing person to live with. You will need to provide two references who can vouch for you. Seriously. - Lead an active lifestyle, have a positive attitude and some similar interests. We don't want someone who will always be parked on the couch or locked inside the bedroom. (But, I, the writer, spends hours locked in my bedroom writing. Although, when I do come out, I'm friendly and personable.) - Be financially secure with a steady income and the ability to pay bills on time, every time. - You are very neat/tidy, clean up after yourself, and help with household cleaning. - You are respectful, considerate, and quiet. - Be able to adjust easily to a new living situation...living at the beach has it's own set of challenges. - We want you to feel comfortable with us, and us with you. - We like having people over, but not a continuous revolving door for overnight guests. We respect one another's space and privacy. The Business End: Rent is $950 per month plus utilities (LADWP, gas, internet - estimate of $75/month). Move-in date is preferably May 1st. We know that it is almost mid-month, so let us know ASAP if you are interested! First month rent is due upon move in. Half month security deposit is due upon agreement and and second half of security deposit is due at move-in. Agreement is month to month with a 60 day notice for move-out.
