A gorgeous house out in Pelham/Belchertown, 15 minutes from UMass/Amherst. The house is modern, highly efficient, and in a safe, quiet, walkable neighborhood.
General:
The house is a 12-15 minute drive to campus. A car is required as there are no bus stops nearby. The house is new with huge living spaces including a gorgeous open-floorplan kitchen, living room and fully finished basement. Kitchen amenities include a gas range, large french-door fridge, dishwasher as well as plenty of counter space for cooking, baking, and mixing. Three of the four bedrooms are upstairs along with a large, fully finished utility room above the garage. The main floor is living space, with the kitchen, sitting area, and dinette as well as a sliding door out onto the porch. The living room has a large TV, excellent sound system, and gas fireplace for ambiance. The basement is fully finished and gigantic.
The house comes largely unfurnished, but includes the two large TVs (living room and basement) along with the surround sound speakers. The roads are town-owned and plowed/salted regularly. I've been living here for 3 years and never had an issue getting in/out of the house.
Bedrooms and bathrooms:
The upstairs hosts 3 of the 4 bedrooms: the master bedroom and 2 others. The master bedroom is very large with 2 closets and enough floor space for several bureaus if needed. There is a private, large, master bathroom attached with a double vanity and shower. The other 2 bedrooms are fairly large (12x12) with closets and space for additional furniture. These bedrooms share access to the upstairs bathroom (separate from the master bath) which is a full bath with a single vanity, large linen closet, tub and shower. The fourth bedroom is in the basement and could alternatively be set up as an office. The basement also houses a full bath with a single vanity shower. The last bathroom is on the main floor. This is a half-bath with a single vanity as well as the washer and dryer.
Area:
The house is on a cul-de-sac in a very safe, very quiet, neighborhood. It is a 15 minute drive to UMASS campus/amherst center, 8 minutes from shops in Belchertown center, and has easy access to the 202 but no road noise. The immediate area is quiet and the wind through the leaves is often the loudest thing you'll hear in the summer evenings. No sidewalks on the roads, but cars move slowly and people/families walking on the roads near the house is a common sight. Additionally, your front door is literally 100 feet from well maintained but little-used trailheads into the Reed conservation area, with access to knight's pond. A short drive/bike will get you to Quabbin gate 8, and about 5 other trailheads.
