Bill had a long and great career at Reynolds Metals Company and ALCO Aluminum retiring in 2006 as Vice President of Marketing after 35 years of service. After retirement, Bill started his own Business and Marketing Company. For the next three years, Bill contracted with Fortune 500 companies that were drawn to his achievements and impressive credentials. In 2009 Bill took his skills to a different kind of business – one that he believed would provide opportunities to help people realize their life dream of home ownership. He joined the Long and Foster team at the height of the recession and in a poor market, but Bill’s business began small with a little base and expanded rapidly utilizing his marketing and technology skills. Bill sees every client as unique, and his client list spans across all demographic and economic lines. Every client receives the quality and attention to detail that has characterized Bill throughout his career, and all walk away with the feeling that Bill cares about them as individuals. In 2016, Bill formed the Bill Nelson Real Estate Group and has built a team of Real Estate professionals consisting of three agents and Admin Staff to support their business goals. In 2016 Bill’s team obtained "Gold Team" status which is an elite group of top producing agents at Long and Foster Realtors. Sales has continued to grow and Bill’s team continues to be one of Long and Fosters top producers every quarter. Bill’s relational approach to life and business springs from his personal relationships – primarily with God, but also in the connection with his three children and seven grandchildren.
