Montoloking is a small beachfront borough on an isolated stretch of the Jersey Shore. The year-round population is only a few hundred, creating a tightly-knit community when the thousands of summertime tourists vacate the island. The borough is almost entirely residential, with the only major exception being the Mantoloking Yacht Club near the foot of the Herbert Street Bridge; this offers residents a secluded atmosphere to enjoy the coastal lifestyle in peace and quiet.
