Franklin Township is home to several important historic buildings and locations, including the Franklin Inn, which was built in 1752 by Cornelius Van Liew. Rockingham, a historic house built in 1710, served as George Washington’s first headquarters. Other significant historic sites include the Van Wickle House, built in 1722, and the Wyckoff-Garretson House, built in 1730.
