Great location, nice amenities. Maintenance workers are great, but the situation with getting doors and elevators fixed is absolutely unacceptable for how much we pay in rent. Doors are not operating properly for months on end. Elevators down for over a year with no plans of fixing. Management has not properly addressed the issue with transparency.

I was really excited to move here back in February, and everything was going well initially. However, things took a turn when the elevators started breaking down, and the parking management was handed over to a third-party service. Now, I can't have guests over without them being charged $10, no matter how short their visit. This has really soured my experience.

We sincerely apologize for the frustrations you've experienced, especially with the ongoing elevator issues and guest parking concerns. We use this parking service so our residents will be able to bring their guests onsite without the burden of stopping by the office (during our office hours) for limited passes. The building is nice and they fix things when you request them. A couple of issues I encountered was the elevator kept breaking down for 3 months and management kept fixing it but it kept breaking, my Amazon packages left at my door were stolen a couple of times (no cameras so management don’t know who it was or couldn’t help), I live facing Riverside and man it’s freaking loud. If you are anywhere but floor 6 or 5, you will hear the loud busses and bus stop (I sleep with earplugs every night). Also there are often concerts in the park across the street so it can get loud during those days. Location is nice, but wish I knew about the noise, that’s the worst part

The prime location offers the convenience of walking around Austin. Also, this location is very dog-friendly, making it a perfect place for you and your pet. I highly recommend getting an animal if you choose to live here and you're right next to Auditorium Shores. However, my only concern revolves around overall security. Occasionally, non-residents are found in the hallways, raising questions about the apartment complex's security measures. I do advise against using the bike racks on the first floor due to theft concerns. Despite this, the community's charm and pet-friendly atmosphere make 422 a wonderful place to call home!

Location, location, location. When I first moved here, I didn't have a car. The fact that you can walk to downtown, to South Congress and have such amazing trail access can't be beat! Management is wonderful and so are the other members of the community. I am extremely happy at 422 At The Lake.

Need secure access to U1 lower garage stairwell. Homeless, non-residents follow cars in and then access the building through that stairwell. Serious safety issue. Makes all the other safety secure entry points null and useless.

I've never met a more helpful caring staff. They go above and beyond. My move-in here was smooth, a lot of peace in the community, even the people here are friendly. Perfect location, modern apartments that also feel like home. Honestly couldn't have asked for anything better. So glad I chose these apartments.

Truly, the staff at 422 is unmatched and I could not have picked a better place to live. I’ve been in Austin my entire life and this is the first complex where i feel valued as a resident and the first time I have ever renewed a lease. I could not recommend 422 enough.

There are no redeeming factors about 422 at the Lake. Although advertised as ‘luxury living’, the reality of the complex is far from. The complex is an echo chamber. The infrastructure is so poor that you can hear footsteps, conversations, music, closing doors, dinging elevators, faulty fire alarms as if it were surround sound. On top of the noise, the residence is poorly maintained with dog poop, beer cans, and other trash regularly found within hallways and common areas of the property. The stairwells permanently reek of dog pee/poop, and garbage. The proximity of the complex to downtown Austin could be seen as a pro, but the constant outside noise and traffic counters that. Management is negligent and unfriendly. There is direct evidence of this on the resident portal, in which they openly disregard or ignore residents reporting issues or complaints. Without any prior notice to residents, an email was sent one day announcing that the parking garage was now to be monetized and open to the public, which meant surprise – fewer open spaces for residents and no more free parking for residents' guests. Safety concerns related to the public now being able to access the property and what should be a private residential parking garage, and even homeless people sleeping in the complex stairwells fell on management’s deaf ears. The experience of living at 422 is not what you pay for. Save yourself the inconvenience and headache that is 422 at the Lake.

100% do not move here. They dont allow free guest parking, the elevators are horrible, noise is terrible on riverside, its not worth the price. This building is trying to compare itself to other DT high rises it is not even in the same ballpark. I would endorse this building if they changed the guest parking to be free. I would stay here if they rectified that situation as all residents here have been outraged by the change with guest parking.

Worth every penny. You will not regret moving here. Caring management, beautiful scenery, location, warm, friendly, and down to earth staff... thats not common for a higher end apartment complex. Office staff can be stuck up and not no e after you sign this lease. None of that foolishness occurs here. Im 100% satisfied (elevators could move a little faster but thats not a deal breaker lol).

422 at the Lake has been the best first home for my boyfriend and I. Not only is it beautiful and located in the most PERFECT location in Austin, it is such a comfortable and friendly environment.
