About This Property
THE APARTMENT Two bedroom apartment with separate dining room, living room and kitchen. Your own private back porch with seasonal views of the Hudson River. Your own private purple laundry room in the basement. Lots of storage in attic. THE LANDLORDS This apartment is on the second floor of a two-family house. Your landlords, a small family, are downstairs. We're friendly, but respect your privacy. If there's any problem, we fix it quickly. We have a butterfly garden, pumpkin patch, sunflower garden. Hope you like Halloween. And Dogs. We're in a prime trick-or-treating spot for Halloween. The Webber Park neighborhood goes all out for Halloween. We're pretty quiet, but we have our own dogs and often foster beagles and basset hounds. The apartment is a 17 minute walk to the Tarrytown train station, which has an express train to Grand Central. At then end of our street is a small park and playground, which leads into Rockefeller State Park. Excellent neighborhood for hiking. We're just a couple blocks off the Old Croton Aquaduct Trail. The apartment right now has radiator heat included and will continue to be a back-up system. In March we are scheduled to get ductless mini-split heaters and air conditioners. When that happens, THE COMMUTE Before the pandemic, one of us walked every day to the express train stop in Tarrytown (17 minute walk and 39 minute train). We're equally close to the Philipse Manor stop. You don't need a car to live here. Grocery, bars, restaurants, farmer's market are all within 20 minutes walk. If you have a car there's a lot of street parking. THE NEIGHBORHOOD This is a quiet quirky neighborhood filled with people who just moved her from NYC, people who have lived her all their lives and people from around the world. At one end of our street a park where there's a playground and a creek for your dog to swim. It leads into Rockefeller State Park, the Old Croton Aquaduct Trail and Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. PETS Good dogs are fine. We don't want cats or smoking because of allergies and asthma. Let's talk if you've got a weird pet. We're animal people. Available for viewing in February.

There's a definite hint of mystery about Sleepy Hollow. Perhaps it's the historic architecture or the wooded hills. Maybe it's the narrow, winding roads that seem to vanish around every bend. Perhaps it's the famous residents buried at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery … Andrew Carnegie, Elizabeth Arden, Washington Irving, Brooke Astor, and even William Rockefeller. The tombstones and mausoleums alone would inspire a bit of a shiver … and then, of course, there's the legend. When Washington Irving wrote "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," published in 1820, Sleepy Hollow was known as North Tarrytown. The story, set in 1790, focuses on a headless horseman -- a Hessian soldier who lost his head to a cannonball during battle.
While living in Sleepy Hollow will make friends and family want to visit every October, there's much more to this historic village than ghosts and legends. Sleepy Hollow, which was settled sometime in the mid-1600s, is stunning.
