About This Property
It's not easy to find a place to call home in Chicago that has everything one could possibly want. But in coming upon this listing, you have found such a place. Be the first to live here since it's been renovated. This unit has the largest single bedroom / single bathroom floor plan at 400 East Randolph Street, with an abnormally large balcony and extraordinary, expansive views of the Chicago skyline in the city's newest and hottest neighborhood. The paint from its complete renovation has only just dried. Brand new bathroom, with glass-enclosed Italian porcelain shower and bathtub; environmentally-friendly low-flow toilet; space-saving compact vanity and sink; stylish, modern fixtures; dimmable LED lighting; and new copper pipe behind the wall. Brand new kitchen with Venetian Gold granite countertops; modern shaker-style espresso cabinets; stainless steel, energy-efficient GE appliances; Moen garbage disposal and faucet; dimmable LED under- and over-cabinet lighting; and a stove top with a built-in griddle for the making of up to 6 grilled cheese sandwiches simultaneously (and other culinary delights). Like the bathroom, the kitchen also has brand new copper pipe behind the wall. Every interior door in the unit is new, custom-made, and modern shaker-style. The front door was replaced 5 years ago during a building-wide common area renovation. The windows and balcony sliding door were replaced in 2017. They are solid and thick, keeping out both the Chicago weather and the sounds of downtown, but they are very easy to open. The unit has very durable bamboo flooring throughout, except in the kitchen and bathroom, where the flooring is brand-new, durable porcelain. Every ceiling light in the unit is brand new, low-profile LED and controlled either by a new wall dimmer switch or (in the case of the closet lights) new bluetooth wall switches. Every electrical outlet inside the unit is new. The balcony is abnormally large, measuring close to 18 ft long and more than 6 ft wide. You'll be hard pressed to find a balcony nearly as large anywhere in the city. The unit also has ample storage. There is a coat closet, bedroom closet, bedroom wardrobe, two modest walk-in closets, and a good-sized cage in the building's shared storage area. The unit has both heating and air conditioning in the living area and bedroom that you can control the intensity of. But the temperature of the unit is so pleasant in both the warm- and cold-weather months that the heat and AC are necessary only when Chicago experiences weather extremes. The building's amenities are second-to-none. It has its own health club, which has everything and is immaculately maintained. The locker rooms are gorgeous, with separate sauna and steam for those identifying as male and female. All the exercise equipment is relatively new. There are so many cardio machines that it's very unlikely you'll have to wait for one, even during the busiest workout times. There are free weights, including dumbbells up to 75 pounds. There are circuit machines that work every part of the body. There is a separate area and equipment for stretching and core work. There is a basketball court, racquetball court, and ping pong table. There is a private massage room. But the jewels of the health club are the pool and jacuzzi, which are open 18 hours a day, 365 days per year because covered by a geometric glass dome. That dome lights up beautifully at night, and the lighting changes every night. It is unique in Chicago, and it is spectacular. In addition to the health club, the building has a massive laundry room, on-site dry cleaning, its own bar and restaurant (which delivers), its own private bus that takes residents to stops in the Loop and around Michigan Avenue north of the Chicago River, a business center with Macs and PCs, a 24-hour doorman, a 24-hour maintenance staff, a library, indoor heated parking, temporary outdoor parking for guests, two freight elevators, a large loading dock, and in-unit package delivery. The building is walking distance from so many great things in Chicago. You'd be 5 min on foot from Millennium Park, a Mariano's, outstanding and affordable seafood and Chinese restaurants, a gorgeous, relatively private park (Lakeshore East), and the path along Lake Michigan. You're 10-20 min on foot from the Art Institute, Pritzker Pavilion, the Chicago River, Navy Pier, the Loop, and all of the universities, offices, theaters, restaurants, cafes, bars, and retail shops that call the Loop home. And if you're driving, it's very easy to get to just about any major roadway in the city, including Michigan Ave, Columbus Drive, Lake Shore Drive, Lower Wacker Drive, 55, 290, and 90-94. There is a CTA bus stop just steps from the building. The building is only 10-15 min on foot from the Millennium Park Metra Station and the CTA Red, Blue, Brown, Pink, Green, and Purple Lines. It's an ideal spot for anyone--whether studying, working in the Loop, or retired and taking it easy. Living here, you're truly in the center of everything. Living here, you will live very well.
