Cradled in the Catskill Mountains, between Binghamton and New York City, Monticello is one of the largest villages in Sullivan County. Named after the residence of Thomas Jefferson, Monticello is a mostly residential community with an array of shops, restaurants, and a library along its commercial Broadway Row right in the center of town.
Monticello is also home to the Monticello Casino and Raceway, which draws crowds of tourists and locals alike. The local DeHoyos Park provides plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation in town while Holiday Mountain Ski and Fun, Lake Superior, and the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River are all just a short drive away. Convenience to Route 17 makes getting around from Monticello simple.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
