Brookland is located between Michigan Avenue and Rhode Island Avenue, with the Edgewood neighborhood to the west and Woodbridge to the east. Nicknamed "Little Rome," Brookland is home to several Catholic churches, the Saint John Paul II National Shrine, and the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America.
