About This Home
Your Dream Mountain Sanctuary Awaits on Skyline View Drive Picture this: You wake up to expansive mountain vistas stretching out before you, grab your coffee, and step onto one of three private decks where you can actually hear yourself think. No traffic noise. No neighbors peering over your fence. Just you, the mountains, and genuine space to breathe. What Makes This Place Different Look, I've lived all over the USA, and this spot is special. You get a full third of an acre, which sounds like nothing until you see how cramped most rentals are these days. This house sits back from the street with actual privacy, something that's become pretty rare here. The three upper-level decks? They're positioned perfectly to catch those incredible Nevada sunsets and morning light that keeps the whole house bright, even in winter. Lots and lots of wood clad windows. The Location is Everything Caughlin Ranch isn't just another subdivision – it's one of those neighborhoods where people genuinely want to live. Walking trails everywhere, mature landscaping that actually looks good, and that sense of community you don't find in the faceless, newer developments. The Steamboat Ditch Trail is literally a four-minute walk away, giving you miles of scenic hiking, biking, and running without dealing with traffic. And the trail selection for hiking, mountain biking, and trail running behind you is ENORMOUS miles upon miles of mountain trails. They're right in your backyard with 50+ miles of world-class mountain biking leading all the way to Lake Tahoe. Perfect for Families Caughlin Ranch Elementary is just blocks away and consistently gets A-ratings. The kids can walk to one of Reno's best elementary schools, while you're steps away from Village Green Park – 11 acres with a fantastic playground, tennis courts, and summer movies and concerts. The whole area feels safe and established, which honestly is worth a lot these days. Your Daily Life Here Grocery runs are easy with Raley's in the shopping center, plus you've got Starbucks for your coffee fix and Casa Grande for amazing margaritas on their outdoor patio. But here's what I loved most when we lived here – after work, you can be on mountain bike trails in under five minutes, or take an evening walk along the ditch trail watching the sunset over downtown Reno. What We're Looking For We want people who'll appreciate this place like we did. The house needs someone responsible – we handle maintenance issues immediately, but we need tenants who take care of the property and yard. Good credit (700+) and solid rental history are must-haves. We're flexible on pets within reason, and honestly, this yard is perfect for dogs. The Details That Matter Pets Welcome: Up to 2 cats, 2 small dogs under 40lbs, or 1 large dog (we can discuss your situation) Yard Care: You handle the seasonal sprinkler service (~$200/year) and basic upkeep Utilities: You cover all utilities Cleaning Deposit - $250 deposit (refundable with professional cleaning) Available Now This isn't just another rental – it's a chance to live in one of Reno's most desirable neighborhoods with genuine space, privacy, and access to incredible outdoor recreation. The combination of mountain living with urban convenience is pretty hard to find. Ready to See It? If you're tired of cramped spaces and busy streets, and you want a place where you can actually enjoy Nevada's outdoor lifestyle while being minutes from everything you need, let's talk. This house gave our family some of the best years we've had in Reno, and we'd love to find someone who'll appreciate it as much as we did.

Living in Old Southwest Reno takes residents back to the early days of the Nevada city, back when pioneers roamed the streets and built homes any way they desired. Locals love the Old Southwest area for its status as one of the oldest neighborhoods in Reno. Close to downtown Reno and to restaurants, bars and schools, many Reno residents consider the area one of the most desirable parts of town.
Unlike the newer developments, Old Southwest homes resemble homes from the past, in many different styles. People can walk down the block and see both a mansion and a cottage on the same street. The uniqueness and old-fashioned nature of Old Southwest and its outer streets pique the interest of those who travel to Reno looking for a family neighborhood close to all of Reno’s attractions.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
