About 353 Rugby Rd Brooklyn, NY 11226

Our fantastic studio apartments have everything you need to be your home base in NYC: A full size bed, a three seater couch, a kitchen you'll enjoy cooking in, a table you can actually sit at for dinner or to work, and a full bathroom. We're steps from the Q train, so you can be in Union Sq in 30-40 minutes. An affordable, relaxing oasis for anyone working in Downtown Brooklyn, Park Slope, or Midtown Manhattan! We welcome all ages, races, genders, orientations & backgrounds. This apartment is in a beautiful, recently renovated home in leafy Ditmas Park, Brooklyn. We are experienced hosts and have built out our basement specifically to host visitors to NYC. You enter through a private side entrance, which leads to a hallway where you enter your private studio. This is your private apartment for the duration of your stay. You control the temperature of the heat/air conditioning. There is a free washer/dryer in the hall for all guests, and there's an iron and ironing board available for guests to share. Ditmas Park is a quiet, safe neighborhood of wood framed Victorian homes. Cortelyou Road has several nice bars, restaurants, and grocery stores, but everything has a local neighborhood feel. Prospect Park is a 10 minute walk away and a fantastic place to run, walk, people watch and relax. Within 200 yards you'll find take-out or sit-down Thai, Tibetan, Mexican food, plus pizza, bagels, burgers, ice cream, a great vegetarian/vegan restaurant, an 20-hour-a-day diner, 2 supermarkets, a dry cleaner and a really good wine shop. We are 150 yards to the Q train stop at Cortelyou Road. The Q runs 24hrs a day and is about 15 mins to Park Slope, 35 mins to Union Sq, 45 mins to Central Park. From the Q you can get almost anywhere in NYC with at most one subway transfer. If you need to visit Long Island, you can get the LIRR from Atlantic Terminal. Free street parking is easy to find in our neighborhood. Street cleaning on our block is Monday/Tuesday, so you only need to move a car once per week. We (Lee and Teri) have lived in Brooklyn for 20 years and in this house for 7. We've been hosting guests for almost 5 years, and have been Superhosts on that other site :-) for years and have over 1,000 5-star reviews. We love providing a comfortable home base for people who are staying in the city, and are very proud of all of the repeat guests who seek out our place.

City - Brooklyn

Home to more than 2.6 million residents, Brooklyn is busy, diverse, and constantly growing. Living in Brooklyn gives you access to art, culture, international cuisine, and yearly celebrations. The borough is packed with bars, pop-up art galleries, boutiques, symphony halls, and museums.

Even though Brooklyn is fast-paced and trendy, it is still less expensive than living in New York City. You can save about 10 percent by choosing to rent in Brooklyn over other New York City locales. For example, a one-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn will cost you an average of $2,256. In New York City, a one-bedroom averages $5,813. However, Brooklyn is far from cheap. In fact, it’s one of the most expensive cities in the nation, with the average house costing about $750,000, compared to the national average of $428,000.
