Port Jefferson sits on the North Shore of Long Island, where a working harbor meets a walkable village that feels genuinely removed from the pace of New York City, yet stays connected to it. The village traces its roots to 17th-century settlement and later built its identity around a thriving shipbuilding industry in the 1800s.
