About This Home
Furnished Tiny Cabin for Rent – Blacksburg – 1BR/1BA – 450 sq. ft. at the Edge of the Woods Want to live in Blacksburg, but don't particularly want to live in Blacksburg? We may have the answer. For rent is a furnished 1-bedroom, 1-bath, approximately 450 sq. ft. tiny house/cabin tucked away at the edge of Brush Mountain. It's small. But before you begin wondering where the composting toilet is, this is an actual house with actual rooms, actual plumbing and no requirement that you document your journey toward minimalism on TheGram. You get: Bedroom Living room Kitchen Full bathroom Washer & dryer Dishwasher Furnishings Smoke-free interior And approximately 450 square feet in which you can become extremely efficient at deciding which possessions actually matter But the house isn't really the interesting part. The backyard is basically Brush Mountain. The property sits adjacent to Stonecutter's Hollow and Blacksburg's growing Brush Mountain Park trail system, with easy access toward Heritage Park and the Jefferson National Forest. Mountain bike? Excellent. Trail run? Walk out the door. Hike? Plenty of that. Prefer to sit outside drinking coffee and occasionally wonder whether that noise in the woods was a deer or something significantly higher on the food chain? Also available. Yes, you may see a bear. No, the bear is not included in the lease. And despite feeling like you're living considerably farther from civilization than you actually are, you're remarkably close to everything that matters. Fresh vegetables and other adult food choices are just down the road at Glade Road Growing. Beer is conveniently available nearby at Rising Silo Brewery. Greens and ales. Basically a balanced Blacksburg diet. And then there's the driveway. We should discuss the driveway. The house is reached by approximately 1/8 mile of steep gravel driveway. It's perfectly manageable in an appropriate vehicle. Your Prius? Your Prius and I may have different definitions of “perfectly manageable.” And when it snows, I will not be arriving at dawn in a plow truck like some sort of mountain-cabin concierge. So if the forecast calls for six inches, plan accordingly, park strategically, own something with decent traction, or simply accept that nature has given you permission to work from home. But here's the beautiful part: At the bottom of the Gravel Driveway From Hell™ is the Huckleberry Trail/shared-use path. Which means you can leave the car at home and ride or walk directly into Blacksburg. Keep going and the trail network will eventually deliver you all the way toward Christiansburg and the magnificent monuments to American commerce awaiting you there. Walmart. Strip malls. Sonic Drive-In. Nature really does provide. So in one direction you have Brush Mountain, singletrack, Jefferson National Forest, local vegetables and craft beer. In the other direction: Cherry Limeades. That's what real estate professionals call location. The boring but important stuff: 1 bedroom 1 bathroom Approximately 450 sq. ft. Furnished Washer/dryer in unit Dishwasher Smoke-free Private wooded setting Direct access to the Brush Mountain trail network Direct connection to the Huckleberry Trail/shared-use path Convenient to Blacksburg Rent: $1350/ month Available: 09/01/2026 Lease term: 12 month to enternity Utilities: well water and septic, internet provided Pets: Considered Security deposit: $1350 Small house. Big mountain. Questionable driveway. If your idea of a good neighborhood includes more trails than traffic — but you still want access to beer, vegetables and the occasional Sonic Drive-In — this might be your place.
