The police station is a half block away at the end of the street, and the oldest house in New Jersey is behind the police station. South Orange has many amenities, including the Baird Center, and a fabulous town pool which is very inexpensive to join. Further South Orange abuts South Mountain Reservation, which is a mountainous forest preserve designed by Olmstead, the man who also designed Central Park. There are great hiking trails throughout the reservation, with waterfalls, streams, cliffs and incredible views of New York on the top of the mountain. Deer often come into South Orange to forage, the trees are full of birds, including birds of prey, and even bald eagles. The back of the house has a beautiful view of South Mountain that makes for some fabulous sunsets. This is a great place to live. Thank you for your interest in the rental.
