The Carriage House at Linden Tree Farm is a spacious 1-bedroom Carriage House located in downtown Newburyport. Part of a circa-1840 mansion, this home is renowned for its gingerbread moldings, lovely gardens, and the iconic Linden Tree. Guests will feel at home while stepping back into a time of elegance and opulence, with antique beams and gleaming pumpkin pine floors enhancing the historic charm. This completely private 1-bedroom apartment features an open living space on the first floor, complete with a kitchen, dining area, and a spacious living room. The easy-to-use gas fireplace sets a romantic mood, while the petite kitchen provides all the essential accoutrements, including a large fridge, dishwasher, stove, french-door air fryer, and Keurig coffee maker. Upstairs, the bedroom suite offers a queen bed, seating area with chaise and chairs, and a private bath. A comfortable workspace with a desk and chair is available both in the bedroom suite and the main living level. For family-friendly stays, a luxury Pack-n-Play or other children's furnishings are available for an additional charge, subject to availability. Stepping out from the Carriage House, visitors can stroll along High Street, Newburyport's mansion row, featuring Federalist, Victorian, and Empire style mansions leading to the vibrant downtown. Newburyport, awarded as a best place to live, offers excellent restaurants, pubs, museums, and boutiques. For a respite from city life, the paved rail trail leads to the scenic River Walk Park or the Scenic Essex Byway. Nearby attractions include Plum Island for wildlife and bird watching, Parker River for water play, and Salisbury beaches. The commuter train, a 2-minute drive away, provides access to coastal cities between Boston and Portland, Maine. Smoking is strictly prohibited, and guests will be fined and immediately evicted for smoking or vaping in the home or on the property. No parties, events, performing artists, or bands are allowed at any time, as these are grounds for eviction with no refund. The fireplace will be temporarily disabled when the air conditioning is installed and will remain unavailable while the AC is in place. It will become available again once the AC unit is removed. The property is cooled with window air conditioning units, installed in May and removed in September, each with both cooling and fan functions. The apartment includes a comfortable workspace with a desk and chair both in the bedroom suite and in the main living level, making it ideal for remote work. [SI]
