Hampton Bays is a cozy hamlet located within the Town of Southampton in eastern Long Island. The community is bordered by Great Peconic Bay on the north side and Shinnecock Bay on the south side, with a section of the barrier island on the ocean. Commercial fishing is a major part of the local economy, with Hampton Bays operating as one of the state’s busiest fishing ports.
