Philomath is small city just outside of Corvallis, located about three miles from Downtown Corvallis and about two miles from Oregon State University. Philomath is named for a college that existed here from 1867 until 1929. Philomath means “love of learning” in Greek. The historic building that housed the college is now the Benton County Historical Museum.
With its mountain views and hilly, wooded landscape, Philomath is an attractive community.
